exterior paint color- the perfect grey/taupe

Hello! I've been reading the wonderful recommendations on this forum for months and I've been so appreciative of all the things I have read so far. What an awesome resource. We are in the process of building and I am going crazy over our exterior paint color. I am looking for a warm greyish/taupe that does not turn too pink or green. Something not too dark but also not too light- I don't want it to look like the sun has faded it. Gosh- I really sound hard to please when I read this back. We are using cedar shakes that will be painted/dipped. Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks so much.

I am looking for this same color too! I have tried LOTS of different samples and most are too "fleshy." BM Ranchwood is a popular exterior color in Canada - in the US the color is Indian River. BM Porpoise is also used in our neighborhood as is Urbane Bronze. SW Zeus is popular, but goes too green on my house.

My finalists so far (I don't think I am done yet) are BM Fairview Taupe and Kingsport Grey - but both go a little "olive" with all of the green bounce from the landscaping, and I don't love that.

I would also love to know other colors that folks have tried :-)

Try Pittsburgh Paints Dover Gray. It looks dark on the card but goes on a medium gray tone. I think it's a very nice gray, and I sampled several before I chose it for the exterior of my house. Here is a link that might be useful:

I agree, Ben Moore Revere Pewter : ) In my living spaces, I use flat paint, in bathrooms & kitchen I use semi gloss. If you are concerned with a 3 year old child and fingerprints, consider using an eggshell finish in your living room. It's not as shiny as semi gloss, not as matte as flat. You will be able to wipe off those prints easily.
