More positive but useful information as well....it's been recommended in books to plant Dark Star in "shade to deep shade", a recommendation I decided to test...ignored...I didn't want to place this very pretty hosta where it could not be seen (I have only one spot, small, with deep shade). There's an obvious reason for deep shade....colour retention for one, however....my hosta, my choice .... DS enjoys full sun from sun-up till around 2:00pm....she would very likely be more blue with less sun, but I think she's fabulous just as she is. The fact that she is not suffering from heat and humidity, does NOT get water pampered, the slugs don't seem to bother her.....well, add all that up and you've got a trouper of a hosta. I'm loving this hosta more and more. She looks like a diva but looks are deceiving! Lol You'll be very happy with your choice, I'm that confident!

Hi, My son is 8, soon to be 9. His room is a little outer space, a little Star Wars, and a little Lego. It sounds like you want more of a true Star War's theme, but I'll describe our room in case it gives you some ideas. My son wanted his room to look like the inside of a space ship, but I didn't want plain gray, so I used a muted blue-gray. I used the darkest color on the strip to paint two "portholes", a small one near his bed and a huge one on a empty wall. (Remember the scenes from Star Wars where Darth Vador and the Emperor watching the battle from a floor-to-ceiling round window?) I painted space scenes (planets, stars, a rocket ship) in the portholes. (Okay, they aren't "professional", but he doesn't mind. He's 8.) Along the top of one wall, about 18 inches from the ceiling, we installed plexiglass shelving held up by silver, industrial-looking brackets. He keeps his Star Wars Lego collection on that shelf. I sewed a few NASA patches onto a plain navy valance for his window covering. I also framed 3 large space-themed posters for his wall. We found that some of the best accessories were in the teen-decor sections b/c that modern, industrial look lends itself well to a spaceship. We still need to install his headboard. I bought a piece of silver pegboard to mount on the wall behind his bed. I'm also on the lookout for a small curio shelf that I could spraypaint silver or black to hold his lego Star Wars people. I think all dark walls would be awesome! In fact DS1 was helping pick a shade of deep blue for a decorating project and he went directly to a SW chip that I had called Sea Serpent and and called it the color of outer space. The other color that he liked was BM Polo Blue (the one we're going w/) which is a deep navy, almost black color. It will be on the top quarter of our DR walls and ceiling. I've never really gone for the whole accent wall. A deep blue almost black w/ white trim in a light filled room would look killer! This is also coming from a person who does not mind painting though. Deep colors take lots of coats if you don't use a tinted primer and vice verse if you decide to take it lighter later. Love Spitfires idea about the room being a space ship looking out into space! DS1 & DS2 have a different themed room of transportation but they do have tin planes, helicopters and a zepplin hanging fromn the ceiling. These pics are old and I've transitioned it into a big boy bedroom now (they are 3 & 6) but the planes are still on the ceiling. Proper planning is key to being able to transition it through his growing and changing tatses over the yrs. One cool idea that DS1 came up w/ last yr. after we made Halloween costumes was to take a leftover box, cut off 2 flaps opposite each other and paint it grey. He put spaceship markings on it in marker and glued leftover Wawa hot dish cups on the bottom outside of the box. They got painted grey too. These were the ships boosters. We crumpled up orange and red tissue paper and stuffed inside the cups to look like flames shooting out. We tacked it onto the ceiling. The 2 box top flaps that we left on were the wings. Now they're into antique British sports cars and the Beatles (every Sunday they listen to Lunch w/ the Beatles on the radio). They want British and American flags over their beds and a deep navy blue ceiling becuase they still love all things sky related. I'm sure that I'll have blue paint leftover from the DR so I bet they get their wish.

A little bit of beige may not be bad. Yellow reflects on itself and gets more intense. Whatever you think your final choice is, be sure to paint ALL of your old cabinets with it before you order. I love the fact that it's so hard to pick colors but the world conspires to make it even harder. The Aura fan deck is impossible to use if you want to see two colors next to each other, and you can't hang it vertically on a wall (all colors are darker that way). The paint store will always present you with an "issue" or "problem" that prevents you from getting the samples you need, and they make it too expensive anyway. Chips will either fall of the wall because you used painters tape, or rip off the paint because you didn't. It is making me insane and I would happily hire someone to do this just to avoid the insanity. My neighbors' kids and their friends have been setting off little snapper firecrackers all day. I keep hoping.
