Have you tried Lipton Green Tea To Go yet?

They are those little packages, long and thin, of tea that is 0 calories, 0 everything, designed to be added to a bottle of water. I bought 2 different flavors of them last week, Mandarin/Mango and Cherry Blossom. YUM! You just tear them open and pour into your bottle (I bottle my own water, I have a few travel bottles that I reuse) and shake well to dissolve and you have a refreshing drink that is a nice change from plain water. And it has antioxidants in it.

I'm going to make some little wallets to hold a few safely in my purse or glove box, with room for other things, too, like packets of Splenda, a handi-wipe, salt and pepper, all the stuff that ends up in the bottom of your purse. A "condiment wallet", if you will. lol

I found these little boxes in the coffee/tea aisle at the store, 10 packets to a box for under $2, I think, so that's a lot cheaper than they sell them for at the counter at the Zippy Mart, where they're about a dollar each.

PS- what's the other word for glove box? I can't think of it, I know glove box is outdated.

Hmmm. I still call it a gllove box...but then I'm outdated too! LOL!
I love those little packets...Crystal Light has them and kool-Aid...and WalMart has their own.Try the Cranberry-Apple...it's my favorite!

Love those packets. Good idea for keeping them safe in your purse. I call it the glove box! I didn't think about putting them in there for road trips.

Hi Kitty: I'm glad you are back, I miss your tons-of-blooms gorgeous pics, and your years of experience ahead of me. When Alana in SC got sick bands from Burlington early april, this is what I wrote to Alana on April 19: "Fish emulsion is very acidic, best mix into your tap water to lower the pH for pale roses. It's great to water your roses with diluted fish emulsion, but NOT to spray the foliage. If leaves are kept wet and slightly acidic, you'll get diseases. Fish emulsion is cited as NPK is 5-2-2, with trace elements. University of Mass. research on marigolds tested chemical, fish emulsion, alfalfa pellets, or a combo. They compared Neptune fish emulsion NPK of 3-1-5, versus chemical fertilizer NPK of 20-2-20. Personally I think the marigold watered with fish emulsion looks better than others, the one with alfalfa meal is worst, very stunt and yellowish. Google that, and you'll see. Another organic way is to use blackstrap molasses, but only the Plantation brand has the highest nutrient. Plantation brand sold at Walmart has 17% potassium, 20% iron, and 20% calcium. Experiments on Soluble fertilizers showed that high potassium plus calcium yielded the best root growth, and the best flowering. Less is best with molasses. People with green plants use 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water for every 2 weeks. Since roses are tougher, 1 teaspoon would be fine. Too much sugar can make the fungi out-number the bacteria in the soil. A tiny bit of sugar stimulates the endo/ecto mycorrhizal fungi. That group of soil fungi increase the nutrients in soil, esp. phosphorus, potassium, and iron. I posted a thread on mycorrhizal fungi a month ago. " After I wrote the above to Alana, I went to find Plantation brand early April .... no luck. So I'll order low salt soluble fertilizer NPK 2-20-20 with molasses from Kelp4Less. Once diluted, that Mid-Bloom pack has 1/4 cup molasses per 50 gal., plus Myco++ fungi for best root-uptake of nutrients. If you can find Plantation Blackstrap molasses, its high iron will green up your plants. Have not notice a change either. I have used it for years and years. I buy the multi packs of bags from Costco, and just opened a new one about a week ago and it didn't taste different from the last of last years purchase, that I could tell.

Friends gave me a generous-sized box of store-brand ("Pres. Choice", for you Canadians) Turtle-like candy around Christmas, a couple of years ago, that may have been given to them, but had sea-salt on the outside, so they didn't like it. I think that the occasion was when I went to their home to write a cheque for their church, which I appreciate but don't attend. A year or so later, when at their church for a (post-funeral?) gathering, I told them of how much I'd appreciated the candy, and added how I'd re-processed it ... by wiping the salt off with my hands. So figured that, not having returned most of the box and added the advice ... that I owed them one ... (debt unfulfilled, as yet ... but I did get a box of coated cookies for them some time ago ... that hadn't got delivered before they'd probably lost their freshness). ole joyfuelled ... with welcome addition of chocolate, on occasion ... if one can legitimately call that "fuel"

That's a no for me, I don't like sweet tea at all, but am so happy that you've found something that helps you. I also do not like artificially flavored teas, my hypersensitive tastebuds detect the chemicals. My favorite ice tea is made with a high quality bagged tea, usually a combination of several brands. I love Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas and a couple of bags of that added to black or pekoe teas added to a big cold brew jug will make me very happy. I often add herbs from my garden or spices from the cabinet to the brew. Lisa, I had never heard of the Red Rose figurines in my life! It must be pretty crappy tea that you would give it up, but apparently you are not alone! You may enjoy the article I found when researching these figurines; it's very droll but has a tiny bit of salty language. Red Rose Tea figurines.....an obsession, lol

Havn't tried the green tea yet,but i use the propel ones every day.I also have some called "Shake and Run,ice tea from Safeway markets,and one called Morning Spark,an orange flavor drink.But Propel is my favorite.

I've not tried Green Tea much ...

... but felt that it had no more effect on making me "go" than any other kind of tea, as far as I could tell.

After my foray into the low carb lifestyle, I developed a sensitivity to both aspertame and splenda and can no longer tolerate either. I get flushed cheeks and a headache and worse. I saw those and wanted to try them, but cannot because of the splenda.

Good to know that they are okay, my sister might like them. Right now she is into the bottled green tea drinks.

The problem I have using the little packets is that I have to have lots of ice with those type of drinks. So I just carry a small lunchbox cooler with bottled water and Diet Pepsi with me when I'm out for the day. DH likes the Crystal Lite packets.

I can't do the aspartame either - but they do sound good.

And it never hurts to have a "condiment in your wallet"

I haven't tried the packets but I've had the green tea in the bottle. It was a little too sweet for me but you can probably adjust that with the packet...just not use as much. Great idea for the condiment wallet. And I call it a "glove box" too.....is there another name? I guess it should be called the "map,insurance verification,salt packets,pen and owner's manual box". LOLOL

Haven't tried those but just may because I need to be drinking more water than I do. I call it a "glove compartment" but was with somebody recently and they called it "the pocket". Never heard it called that!

I haven't tried it yet, but I love just plain water. DS#3 has bought some kind of flavored little packages to add to water and he really likes them. I think they are made by Country Time?

Condiments in the wallet, don't leave home without them, LOL
