Comments (14)I have blue pearl granite with white 4" ceramic tile backsplash, with blue pearl accents (white cabinets, unstained oak floor). Love my BS. Easy to clean and love how it brightens up the kitchen against my navy walls....See Morecolor theory? how to pull color out of granite
Comments (2)If you want to intensify the blue, then use something opposite like orange or yellow. Using blue or grey will make it seem less blue. If that doesn't fit with the rest of the colors in your home, then just use something like white or black....See MoreBlue pearl counters in need of a backsplash.
Comments (49)Annalynn - I love tile like that ... and I think you have cherry cabinets so I'm sure the white looks beautiful. My mom is also looking for a backsplash and she likes the patterns like that if you don't mind sharing the manufacturer. She probably needs a cream color. I'm using a kitchen place that plans everything up front so the actual project is completed in 2.5-3 weeks. So, unfortunately I have to decide everything now. I've seen lots of different options online so I have an idea, but I know it all looks different in your house. I love glass so much more than ceramic (especially with the blue pearl), so I really want to go in that direction. Karen - I'll include the link with the colors again. I have samples at home of the slate gray (too dark), rain cloud (very pretty, but I think I want a little more color), soft blue (a little too pastel for me), soft gray (too close to white), and blue-gray. I really like the color of the blue-gray, but I'm worried it's a little on the dark side. I'm lucky in that my kitchen gets a ton of natural light so with the light cabinets, I feel like it's okay to go a little darker on the backsplash. My current kitchen has a drab beige backsplash and I'd prefer something a little more interesting. I'm at the point where it's the only thing hanging me up and they won't put me on the schedule until I pick something, so I guess it's decision time. Annalynn - is yours installed yet? It would be awesome to see a picture! Thanks, Lisa Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.interstyle.ca/products/glasstyle/glasstyle-colors.html...See MoreQuestions about Ticor sinks
Comments (3)I do not know what you mean by "Italian square sinks" or what you mean by "regular". Could you be more specific, or even better, provide a brand and model number. Perhaps you mean rectangular vs. D-Shape? If that is what you mean, then the benefit of a rectangular sink over a D-shape is that it is a more efficient use of space. A d-shape cuts into the interior space of the sink because of its rounded "D" corners. Having said that, many prefer the aesthetics of a D-shape sink. Also rectangular sinks come in "0-radius" or slightly rounded corners (like 10 degrees). The "0-radius" is a modern look but some complain that gunk can get into the sharp corners. I myself have a rectangular sink with slightly rounded corners and I like it a lot. As to drain location, what you are talking about is called an "offset drain". An offset drain is an advantage because it means you can set pans down in the sink without covering the drain, which is a nice convenience (I love my offset drain!). In addition, an offset drain allows more room for your disposal and under-sink items, since the offset drain is not smack-dab in the middle of your cabinet. Hope I've helped, but I've had to make assumptions on what you were asking about the "italian square sink" vs. "regualar"....See Moregsciencechick
