Scary movie review

"Quarantine" .. have any of you watched this yet? We did.. not as scary as what I thought it would be. What are some good scary ones you've all watched lately?

I saw that awhile ago it was alright..If you like really scarey and gruesome movies.. I just saw 'Last House on the Left' I would call this a gruesome film... Good... but gruesome

Our son rented "Quarantine" a couple of weeks ago....

I love scary movies....This one wasn't the best but okay...
I did like the way it seemed like a documentary that you were watching "the real thing"

When I lived in town we lived on 6th Avenue...in the last house on the left....LOL
I always gave that as directions.
You couldn't go any further. There was interstate then golf course then the river then Omaha NE.

I want to see this movie but not till the kids comes home. Alex and I were going to meet yesterday and watch a movie. We chose Silver Linings Playbook but he fell asleep and stood me up. I drove all the way to Lexington and he didn't show up. He's been having sleep issues lately so I figured that's what happened...anyway, way before that I told him I wasn't watching anything scary because I had to come home to an empty house. I love scary movies but they freak me out. The movie I was going to see yesterday is now playing at the theater near here so I may go see it this afternoon by myself.

I was so anxious to contribute our favorites that I missed the decision for Twilight Zones and ,Addams Family. Have a good time celebrating! We will be at an outdoor performance of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow on Saturday night, but tonight will find me watching Ernest....there's a scene in the movie that cycles through all his many characters, including the Miami matron, that I look forward to every year, and Eartha Kitt is at her scariest in this one :-). The movie is worth seeing for Streep's performance. She accurately captures the endearing goofiness of Julia, even down to the awkward body language and that weird voice that sometimes would drift into an unmodulated screech. Stanley Tucci is excellent as well. I found the structure of the movie a tad strained, though. Putting those two stories together--well, the parallels seemed artificially strained at times, or at the very least unbalanced. The portion of the movie dedicated to the lives of a couple of struggling NYC yuppies just isn't as interesting as the story of a diplomat and his feisty wife (who will soon revolutionize American cuisine) living in postwar Paris. If the Streep scenes are fresh figs and Sauternes, the NYC scenes are Fig Newtons and skim milk. And, when the movie drifts away from cuisine into some political/social commentary, it does so in Hollywood's typical preachy hectoring tone. But that's a minor cavil. Fred Astaire movies weren't known for consistency and logical plots, either, but they were enjoyable. Have a glass of decent bubbly before the show and enjoy this confection. As Julia would say, "Bon..." oh, you know the rest.

Scary movies make my imagination run amok, but I have to say that The Shining is probably the scariest movie I have ever seen. We live on 7 acres in the woods so being overly imaginative is not a good thing. To this day it still gives me the willies.

I'm usually not a fan of horror movies but I have really loved the SAW series. You need to watch them in order to understand. There are 5. Really well done

I'm not sure why I even clicked on this thread. I can't watch ANY scary movies-I am such a WIMP! I like to sleep at night.

I heard that "Last House on the Left" was one of the most gruesome movies ever made.

I just watched one last night - "Funny Games" starring (and produced by) Naomi Watts, with co-star Tim Roth and Michael Pitt. Scariest darn movie I ever saw and I don't usually like them because they seem to be dumbed down to me - just a "slice 'em and dice 'em, bag 'em and tag 'em" mode - but this was not your run of the mill horror movie - it came from a different place.

Lately I watched I Am Legend (2007 version). It was scary science fiction and I thought it was good. I always like Will Smith.

I watched I Am Legend also and I thought it was pretty good. I really thought it would have been scarier though.. (but... kinda glad it wasn't.. lol)

I am anxious to hear reviews on Last House on the Left. I remember being scared to death when I saw the original, that is one of the scariest movies ever made (to me). I LOVE scary movies!! But I mean true sit on the edge of your seat, ready to jump at any sound type of thriller. Not just blood and gore, that isn't entertaining to me....
