Yes, I saw several of them today already. I can remember the awful uproar about them years ago though they didn't bother me much at the time.

Today I was copying and pasting something that had a link in it though, and it was very annoying as it kept 'triggering' the link. The outcry against them was so great last time that the idea was abandoned. I hope that it is abandoned as well this time...sigh.

I don't like them either. Actually, I find them pretty irritating. Maybe it's just my eyes, but they kind of disturb the 'flow' when I'm reading the posts. I noticed them first thing this morning.

I just got home from vacation and put on a sweater before planting flowers on the side of my house. I am saving money by not paying a landscaper.

That's annoying! Do we know before pushing "submit" that the word will become a link? Maybe a mis-spell would cure that, but a nuisance to do.

The link will show up in the preview I added a disclaimer to mine on one post saying I did not add the link ivillage did

I use Firefox with AdBlock and I don't see any links within the text, just the one at the end ("5 Whys"). No hyperlinks embedded in the text.

Is it my software that's saving me the annoyance?

I use Firefox, too. I have Java disabled for these forums. I never see any of this stuff.

Here is how to turn them offper iowagirl, per The Computer Help Forum

I read this over at Computer Help and it worked.

Click on the ? in the box that pops up when you hover over a link.

When you get the page loaded - there will be a tab for DISABLE - follow the instuctions.

Close out of everything - then reopen the KT - the links are then gone from the posts.

Gosh, they're obnoxious. Some sites are just loaded with this embedded advertising. Thanks for the workaround, CC.

Let's see, I'm supposed to work around the links that iVillage has imposed? I think not!
Even old posts are showing up with colored words that trigger ads.
I am sending a terse note to Tamara. This is even more annoying than the advertising posts some people try to sneak in.

These horrible links showed up a couple years ago too. We complained about it and got them removed. I didn't see them this time, but I'm using firefox and rarely have problems with any unwanted links or advertising.
