I'm feeling pretty fortunate that I planted a bunch of fall spinach this year. I've got spinach going now that is ~2 weeks away from being a nice big marketable size for bunched spinach. There is no spinach to be found in the town where I live(many grocery options). I'll be the only game in town and know that many people are craving spinach because they can't get it anywhere. Tell your customers that the problem has nothing to do with spinach. It's only about a producer negligance, sloppiness, carelessness, etc. It could have happened to (and does) to any fresh or prepared product. Reassure your customers. The contaminated spinach came from california or new mexico. Your customers should feel fortunate to have a locally grown option. Assure your customers that your spinach is not contaminated with e. coli carrying fecal matter. Essentially, know more than your customers, so that you can assuage their spinach fear...

I am on the same page as you. This house is my forever house and I will live here for the next 50 years or so, god willing. I didn't want to devote space to built ins. I know I will replace or get rid of appliances in the future so the only thing built in is my double wall ovens. Instead of going with a cook top, I went with a standard 30 inch free standing range. I did not enclose my refrigerator, in fact I purposefully had no cabinets built above it so if I want a taller fridge, I won't be limited, and my microwave sits on the counter. I bought it 7 years ago for 100 dollars at Walmart. It is starting to go out and needs to be replaced soon and I won't have to agonize over finding the right size to fit the space. Right now with 4 small children, I need a large microwave. When they have all moved out, I will probably buy a smaller one. My kitchen won't be appearing in any magazines for being the latest and greatest with specialized built ins but it is functional and will be for a long time.

When I moved to a house on a well, without a water softener, all my kitties wanted to drink was the well water (would sit in sink & tub just waiting for drips). Because of the high iron content, I did not want them drinking it. So I tried bottled water, which they did not like, and decided that I did not want them drinking that because it was not chlorinated and would be sitting in their bowl for 24-hours, and knowing they dip their paws in the bowl after having those same paws in the litterbox. Final solution - fill gallon bottles of water at my sisters house, as she has chlorinated municipal tap water. They were OK with that water. Knowing how critical water is to kitties, I bought 2 different types of fountains; they never used them and were a PITA to clean. Also add water (~1-2 ounces daily) to canned food to promote adequate hydration, dilute urine and help prevent obesity/diabetes and FLUTD.

A nurse friend who had problems in that area and ultimately decided to have elective surgery said that these potties were helpful for her. She tried several (I wonder what Amazon does with the ones sent back?) and found that a medium height was best for her. The only times I had real difficulties were after childbirth. And that isn't happening again for me :)
