Plywood, 'furniture board', frameless cabs?

I'm looking at frameless cabs from Home Despot and a local lumber chain.

They have 2 different names, but I believe they are both the same Elkay cabinet.

I don't believe there is a standard for "furniture board"?

But furniture board = MDF, right?

And MDF = wood fiber and glue, formed in sheets under pressure?

And plywood = layers of wood fused together at cross angles.

I suppose there could be some MDF that is stronger and more durable than some plywood?

If going by thickness, is there a rule?

If not going by thickness, how do you judge this?

Frameless cabinets are installed differently than framed ones. You put the whole row of them together, and then attach to the wall as a unit.

Do frameless cabinets require a stonger/better box than than framed ones because of the installation method?
