Amber's Jack Russell has seizures and they are pretty frequent. He has been to Purdue for treatment and to so many vet's. He is on I think 3 medications and an herbal something she got from the vet. The herbal stuff has helped but he may have a seizure once a week. You never know when it will happen. It is bad to see and I have seen him have terrible ones and one right after another. I have held him while he was having them and we are hurrying to the vet's. Sometimes it is weather related, like a storm moving in. Your little Gracie is so sweet I wish the best for her. Sue

@mamapinky0, hmorton, and others- Sending out a big thank you for your support!(((hugs))). I did see the original post this morning and must admit, I was a little surprised. However, I've learned unfortunately, there will always be those people who feel entitled to openly judge others, for whatever reason, when they chose to live their lives differently than what the perceiver deems socially acceptable. Even though this person knows little about me or my family, other than what I posted in this intro post. I love it here in the Laundry Room. I started visiting because I have a genuine interest in washing machines (both new and old), detergents and other laundry additives, and fabric care. Also hoping I'll learn a thing or two from the real experts. Yes, we do a lot of laundry in our house. That's all the more reason to make sure it's done right the first time ;) I'll stay here because of all the wonderful, genuinely friendly and caring members I've had a chance to "meet" and chat with so far. I love you already :)

Update on my rescue dog. I hired a dog trainer this week. She brought one of her dogs with her to assess my rescue's reaction to other dogs. Her assessment is that my rescue is over-excited by other dogs - she is not aggressive, fearful, or protective. She thinks that she was isolated from other dogs at a young age and has no experience in socializing with them. The danger is that other dogs may misinterpret her frenzied excitement as aggression, and she could get hurt. The trainer advised that I take it slowly and not walk her until she learns how to behave appropriately. My homework is to sit with her in the front yard and teach her to look, but not confront, other dogs as they walk past our house. If she reacts, I take her back into the house - so far, I have made no progress on this. OTOH, in the house, without distractions, she is rapidly learning commands for "place," "sit-stay," and "down-stay." Louise, my sister had a purebred Bichon - I took care of him when she was on vacation. Very sweet dogs and, like my Pug, friendly with everyone. I cannot take this little rescue anywhere that dogs are allowed - without putting her at risk of injury.

The first time it happened I thought maybe she found a Tylenol or something. When it happened again in a different place, outside instead of inside, day instead of night, I brought her to the vet and bloodwork came back all good. heart all good. she's a beast. This dog is a total foodhound and ball freak, eats anything she can reach, steals anything bAll shaped. When she was a baby we caught her chewing on my razor she stole out of the shower b didnt even cut herself. Soon after we Caught her with a pin cushion.... no pins left in it. Shes never been sick a day in her life. shes a beast. I would say an episode like this occurs once every other year, she sleeps it off and by morning shes good to go. Shes had xrays and MRIs and bloodwork and besides being a little chunky pug she is always healthy as can be. I really cant affoed crazy brain scans
