Island seating, one side or two?

Hi, I'm 3 weeks into my remodel - at the drywall stage. Tell me it will be worth it!

I have plans for an 8 foot island, but since I'm buying a 9 foot granite island slab, I have the option of doing a 9 foot island with overhang on TWO sides instead of one. On the additional side I could fit one extra stool easily. I have already purchased 4 backless saddle style ones that tuck under the counter.

So, I know that I prefer the look of one side seating, but maybe there is a huge advantage to doing two sides that I should consider. What is your experience?

I have 5 kids, and plenty of room on the island side in question to extend it out to 9 feet. My island will be 38 inches in depth. I was planning cabinet 'legs' to support the granite overhang at the seating side, but if I did the 9 foot, I might have to rethink that to corbels or use 3 legs. Thanks!
