. My friend's mother gave me a bulb from her moonflower plant. She said it was jimsonweed, but she wasn't completely sure. I really liked the plant and want to grow one, but I have a few questions. I don't think this is a bulb, but probably a seed pod from Datura, which is also called jimson weed. Anything with "weed" in its' name is usually pretty easy to grow but these things seem to want to plant themselves. The common problem with trying to grow a weed is coddling - anything from "really good dirt" to overwatering can result in failure. The pod in your picture doesn't look ripe to me, but many "weeds" seeds can sprout from seemingly unripe seeds. I'm not sure if the seeds in your pod are ripe enough to sprout. Would your friend's Mom let another pod get more ripe for you? When it turns brown and starts to crack open, it is truly ripe.

You are training them well! Your comment about the hampers is correct. I end up having to collect clothes from their rooms. My 15yo daughter is the worst. I have to avoid her room if I don't want to ruin my day, and her clothes are the deplorable. The underwear, the deodorant stains, and she is the brute on the soccer fields, her uniforms are always stained up. She is a lost cause for now. I can just see your little guy sorting his clothes. ..I think I still have some time with my boys to get a few lessons in, after I learn them myself. I have been washing my clothes since I was 12, but I never learned how to properly do laundry, even in Home Ec.

Sheila, I had heard of Crepuscule's great performance in heat, it also has the colored canes and calyxes that I like. And Mel's Heritage is it's progenie, I'd forgotten... but it's true they are really, really big, that's an absolute shame! Maybe one day I'll have a larger space to work with. On further inspection of the pics on hmf , Victoriana might be not quite my taste, I'm not too fond of the white reverse. And several people in hmf compare Hot Cocoa with Smoky, saying it is the same shade and better performing. Since I have HC already I might cross that off too. I had never seen Lavender Pinocchio like that! It got on even ground against Silver Cloud there. Even if SC does not bloom much I think I have to order it. Those are my favorite shades of steely cold lavender and cappuccino there, whereas most of the time LP appears slightly pink-ish. Oh, and it's settled, I will make space for Butterscotch in the ground. I'm not sure how, it just will happen.
