used to live in so ca, the flea capitol of world,lol...but that was way before frontline (cats) and here in mi, it has worked well...however, it was more than just fronline for the cats...it also included a house spray from the vet, to kill any in the carpets, furniture.

you might have to fight outside, as well...

I use Trifexis for my dog. Trifexis is a once-monthly tablet that kills fleas, prevents heartworm disease and treats and controls adult hookworm, roundworm and whipworm infections.

I have had flea infestations before and had to treat each of my animals (1 dog and 2 cats) with topicals. I never used any sprays or powders though.. I found that ordinary table salt sprinkled on carpets and upholstery overnight and then vacuumed up did the trick.

It's expensive but I use Trifexis also. No problems at all. Plus it's for heartworms too.

Interesting. I tried Trifexis too and didn't have good results.

We used this stuff last year on our yard.
The dogs didn't have any fleas all summer.

I use frontiline plus which is supposed to be for flea and tick prevention. It's expensive, but I have economized by getting the largest dose (80-120 lbs) and then putting a few drops on my little guy who only weighs 12 lbs. Then I put the remainder of my other dog. Before that I was buying separate weight doses for each of my dogs, and it was costing 50.00 month. But I have never had fleas on any of my dogs.

Comfortis pill from the vet, but I don't have to do it but about once a year. She doesn't go out much. We do treat the yard every summer because of the feral cats that bring fleas into the yard. We also sprinkle sevin dust on the concrete patio and around the back door area. We buy a granular product at Lowes it may be bug be gone not sure.

I use Capstar pills for my cat, Baby. They are expensive and only last a short while, but I cut each pill in half and give it to her 2-3 times a week in the summer. She never seems to get fleas, and I never see any in the house.

I used to give her Frontline but she hates it so much.

We use Revolution, which is a serum you put on the dog's withers once a month. It's for heartworm+fleas+ticks. We are happy with the results.

it doesn't kill the fleas right away; it does something to their reproductive cycle, so it takes a while to work. With the ticks, it doesn't keep a tick from getting on the dog, but it eventually kills the tick. Used it on the last dog and on this one as well. Haven't seen a flea in the house in ages.

Anyone remember those awful flea dips? Gah!!

If you have a squirrel population in your yard, beware that squirrels often become infested with fleas and can be a source of re-infestation. If your squirrels are scratching themsleves excessively and/or taking suddent leaps upward almost somersaulting, they are being bitten by fleas. When A squirrel's nest becomes flea infested, they abandon it and will use a different nest, even if it means they have to build one.
