I have had a septic for 20 years and I use Scotts regular. This is the brand that was recommended by a plumber and my septic guy. It is like using sandpaper on your skin but it doesn't clog the septic. You can see for yourself if you wet the Scotts it immediately falls apart. You can look at other brands and just put some water on them and see how fast they break up or just go with tried, true, rough and cheap Scotts. When my kids complain I just tell them that when they use a puplic restroom they will fell more at home because the paper is usually equally as rough as the Scotts.

I'm sort of frustrated - and sad. My most recent post, two years ago ... has only moved down to eleventh location, on page one. Hey, folks! Learning how money works is an interesting hobby! And it PAYS WELL! (Taxes, too!). Having celebrated my 96th birthday a couple of weeks ago, and broken my 12 or so year old car beyond repair more than 3 years ago, when, requiring a driver test, I did not replace it, my friends advised moving from my old step-uncle's farmhouse which, following his death 20 years ago, I'd moved from a 2 bedroom townhouse in the city costing over $750./mo. , renting from the new owner at $450./mo. Rent had increased over those years to $675./mo., and I'd have to pay triple that for an apt. In the city, but, though I could afford it, I like it here. I'm thankful to have health to hitchhike to the village, near to the farm where I grew up, and the city about 12 miles away and this is my third winter here without a car.. Son moved in over a year ago, rent has increased to over $1,000./mo., moving to town would cost well over double that, so figure that if getting a car would allow us to continue living here for 6 mos. to a year or two - that would pay for the car. I'm thankful that I could afford to live in the city for 10 - 15 years or so at least - and when you're starting from 96, that seems like a reasonable timeframe. Sorry - can't think of something humorous to offer, at the moment. ole joyful

I just read an article about the TP shortage and one of the things that was said is that it's not so much people hoarding (although some are) as it is that people are now spending all of their time at home (per Annie's post) which means they are not using public bathrooms and public TP (at work, school, while out and about). This has caused home consumption of TP to increase substantially, which in turn, has increased the amount of TP they must purchase to keep up with the demand which is also contributing to those empty shelves we're all seeing. I've recently seen 20 pound bags of carrots and mega bags of grated cheese at my local store which I imagine is the restaurant supplies mentioned upthread. On a happy note, I went grocery shopping on Monday and stopped by the dollar store to see if they had any TP. To my surprise they did! It was a generic off brand that I've never heard of before, but it's quilted and two-ply. They didn't have limits on how much a person could buy, so I picked up two 12 packs and feel like I won the lottery! I was really glad I stopped by the dollar store, because when I was at the grocery store later, I took a stroll down the TP aisle and they are still completely out. They haven't had any TP for a month - I suppose they have, but apparently I haven't been there at the right time of the day or week.
