Any quillers out there?

A few years ago I received a wedding invitation that was quilled; beautiful. I ordered quilling books and learned to do this wondeerful art which I use for greeting cards of all kinds. My friends love them and always say they're keepers and will be framed and displayed. Are there any other quillers in That Home Site?

Yes, my daughter and I are trying to get into quilling.
We are beginners to say the least. I think it is almost a lost art and it is so beautiful. Isn't it hard to send greeting cards? Don't you have to send them in a bubble envelope? We are hoping to get good at this art.

Hi Maddy: So sorry I'm late getting back to you, but this is the first time I've been on this forum since I posted the quilling question, and we don't receive answers to our postings like we used to.

I usually go to the Kitchen Table. But to answer your question about mailing quilled cards, I take them to the Post Office and have them hand-cancelled. So far, they've reached their destinations without any problems.

I only wish I had visited the shop to pick out my extras. The shop is so amazing-I definitely could not have put everything in my budget. My daughter broke her arm the day I was supposed to visit and I ended up doing everything over the phone so I could stay on schedule. I wish I had chosen the solid sink with the bowed front and medallion (My mom just got that) and I wish I had seen the Franklin edge in person. Somehow I would have fit that into the budget, but probably not the sink. You don't need any tips. They run a flawless operation there, all the way from from the computer template process to the invisible seams at the install. Plus they installed my counters only 48 hours after the template (I live several hours away too.) Good Luck. You will be impressed!

Hi, qshopper and gadgets, Guess I forgot to say that I DO fund my Roth IRA faithfully, for the full amount, annually. Thankfully, someone wiser than I set me up with a TSA person years ago. Of course, after a while, that person's quote of "they don't put teachers in jail" made me wonder just what kinds of monkey business he was doing with my money, so I got a new TSA person. I'm always telling new teachers to pay themselves first by getting a TSA. I'm still trying to get my sister to set one up, but oh, she is soooo busy! Well, now she's 48 and maybe she thinks she's gonna win the lottery, but really, that's not likely! I was wondering about dollar cost averaging and investing in no-load funds--stuff I can do myself, and wondered if anyone else had some advice about things like that...I just learning and one of my cyberpals is talking me thru it...just wondered what everyone else may know... Thanks!

I contacted a local rug dealer the other day. He's online only. I sent him two photos, front & back with a ruler to show the knot count. He confirmed it's a Persian Moud. He does informational videos. I quill also. My sister got me started. It is a lot of fun. We found some kits at the Dollar Tree that had pics we could follow also last year.
