It's about time...

I see Betty White is finally going to be inducted into the NAB (Nat'l Ass'n of Broadcasters) Broadcasting Hall of Fame. She got her first Emmy 60 years ago. And getting better (Betty-er?) ever since.

Garry Marshall (creator of "Happy Days," "Laverne and Shirley" and "Mork & Mindy" helped adapt "The Odd Couple" for TV and was a writer, producer and director) will also be inducted and this is the first time two individuals have been inducted for television into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Congrats to both. Well-deserved.

You know, tfrasqueri, against all advice, I use potting mix and pea gravel....in clay/terra cotta pots only. I watch the watering very carefully....succulents only get watered if I can tell they need it. The potting mix that I use is called Pro-Mix BX (a very high quality product)...it is fast draining, doesn't get "muddy" and seems to be working very well.

Thank you all so much! I really appreciate all of the kind remarks! I noticed today that very few were fully open early enough to capture the beautiful soft morning light. Hopefully things will get on track soon. So many of mine are in full sun from the earlist morning light, so I never really get to capture it just right. I am also trying to do things on a new notebook compurt this year with new software that blows my pea sized brain.....that and trying to use this Vista stuff...well it all blows me away....LOL I shall continue trying to plug away......Thanks again for all of the thoughtful and kind comments...:) Rick

so many folks have commented on the h'birds being so late this year. With the mild winter you'd have thought it would have been the opposite. Anyone have any clue?

Her career is better than ever now. She's a hot commodity and is demand on talk shows, commercials etc.

Congratulations Betty!!! Not bad for a 90-year old.
Good for Garry Marshall too! Weren't they married at one time?

I wasn't sure he is still around, good to hear that he is.

As I thought, but checked Wikipedia, Betty White was married (for the 3rd time) to Allen Ludden, the game show host. He died from stomach cancer complications in 1981, a few days after his & Betty's 18th wedding anniversary.

The odd thing about that was that Ludden lost his first wife to cancer in 1961 a few days before THEIR 18th wedding anniversary.

A couple nights ago we were watching a DVD of "Diner", a movie we had last seen in first run back in the 1980ties, & in one of the scenes with a very young Kevin Bacon watching a black & white TV, Ludden was shown hosting one of those "College Bowl" game shows popular on tv back in the early 60ties.

Ah, thanks for the clarification kfca. Isn't that something about them both dying when they did.
