Speaking of cardstock.......I read a glowing review of "Stampin Up's Ultrasmooth white and vanilla."

Have you guys ever used that?

Big stamp show here next weekend.......may look for it there.
See ya there.....

I haven't heard of it. I really miss my Stampin' Up classes. I'll have to ask my teacher (ex) about it next time I email her. Where is the big stamp show?? The
Dallas area??
I don't know if they can sell at shows. But try to find it anyway.

Concerning gift cards, be sure to check to see if they have an expiration date (many of them actually do!). If you have a daily-reminder wall calendar, mark the expiration dates down. I'd put a note on, say, 6 months in advance and other sporadic dates saying "You have a $50 Borders card to use up!" so that they remind you that you've got them tucked away and need to redeem them. There's nothing worse than realizing too late that you've lost out on $50 of shopping power. For all those store "preferred customer cards," here's what I do. Most of them I put on a keyring. For cards I use frequently that didn't offer a keyring version, I punch a hole in the corner (away from the bar code or swipey strip). In my purse, I also carry a small rectangular zip pouch that I carry coupons, receipts, paint chips, etc. in, and I tuck in most of the other cards I have and the Bed Bath & Beyond 20%-off coupons (I never shop there without one!). Sometimes I'm tempted to just leave that pouch in the glove compartment (as long as none of those receipts have my full credit card number on them!), so it's there if I need it. Always happens that if I leave the pouch at home, that'll be the time that I need something in it.

I am asuming the birthday party is over but for future reference try the 67lb weight. You can get it at Staples in different colors and I can put it through my computer to print on. Anything heaver might not go thru the computer

socks, DS has a brand new girlfriend, and she is moving to San Francisco. (he has great timing! LOL) She leaves the 19th. so I think I will get a picture of them and attach it to one of these and get her a little bracelet. She doesn't need to pack anything else! but I thought it would be a cute idea!

Books Under Your Tree? Gift cards in your stocking?

Sigh, the only gift card I received was from my brother for Home Depot - and he put it in a three dimensional maze I had to solve before I could get to it. come to think of it they do have lots of gardening and how-to books. I only gave books to a teenage first cousin, once removed. He has started reading science fiction so I gave him two Heinleins -- Red Planet, a juvenile, and The Door into Summer which the grandfather he never knew loaned to me when I was a kid. And Bester's The Stars My Destination which is currently my "best science fiction book ever written." We will see how he likes the classics. Woodnymph, sorry to say L'Engle's Certain Women has been completely forgotten by me except for the title -- and that is probably from seeing it on the shelf. Rosefolly, I'd love that Edith Head book myself. I remember reading a fascinating bio of her decades ago. Have I ever mentioned to you that the dvd of Double Indemnity has some extras about the costume design. Apparently Stanwyck had a broad behind that Head had to design for. Who knew?

Stampin' Up's cardstock is great. I don't sell it, just buy it myself. :) (In case you're wondering.)

I want to go to the Duluth show! If my vehicle were more reliable I would just take off. Would be about a 3 hour drive for me. I heard the upcoming convention in Winston-Salem (2 hrs) is more geared to scrapbooking.

About the Stampin' Up cardstock --I think that's the one I read about recently where someone said Walmart's coated cardstock is just as good and cheaper. Not sure if that comes in colors, though...

I love Stampin' Up's cardstock! Honestly, though, for white I use the stuff that comes about 250 sheets for $5.00 in the office supply aisle. For colors, I am currently trying to make the switch to only using Stampin' UP. That means that my Brownie troop is going to have to do a lot of stampin to help me get rid of all of the Wal-Mart stuff! LOL! The only drawback I have found with it is that it will not go through the copier I have access to because it is too thick. Drat!
