I have to chime in here for just a second, I am an early planter too. I have only been burned, i mean frozen, one time, and that was by a freak extreme freeze in Mid-May. We covered plants with everything we could find, and the only thing that kept my tomatoes from freezing was the old styrofoam coolers that we had kept in the shed. I now collect every one of those things I see at every yard sale, flea market, road side. We got down to -10 during that freeze for several days, and those tomatoes looked wonderful. I lost everything else. I wish you guys could have seen the trees around here after that, it was so sad. I have never seen trees with black leaves prior to that. That was the most difficult season I've ever endured as far as gardening goes. Last year, I had to replant, but it was because of too much rain. Personally speaking, a seed packet usually contains much more seed than I can possibly use anyway, so why not plant early? If I extend the season, get my gardening fix, and become the envy of my neighbors, that's fine with me, and if I have to replant everything for whatever reason, well, I just get to re-enjoy it. I work hard, and I do it for what I love, my kids, my garden, and my chickens, and it really isn't anyone's business what I choose to spend my money on. Happy Gardening everyone!!!

Thank you all again for the compliments, it's been a long time and I wanted to reply to a couple of questions. go_figure, the dimensions of the oven/pantry cabinetry is 16 feet. The range cabinetry is 10 feet. The island is slightly over 7' long by 3' wide. Regarding the red espresso machine, we LOVED that machine and tried to make sure we matched some red items with it. Sadly it died about 18 months ago. We replaced it with a bland silver espresso machine which actually produces much better coffee. We still can't get ourselves to throw away the broken red machine so it sits in our basement knowing it will never get fixed... Thanks again all, and best wishes on all of your remodels!

It sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend, quilting or otherwise! Well, you know what they say about "idle hands", so I don't think we'll have any problems here, eh? Friday night we got hit with a fast-acting blizzard (2 feet of snow in just about 12 hours), so the state police closed the post office I work in, so I came home to a 4-day weekend. Yesterday I made a set of 4 coasters for the current Seeds-n-Stitches swap. I call them Grape Pie Coasters, and whenever they're washed, the "crust" will become more pronounced as they unravel a little. The blue fabric is the underside of the coaster, and I'm glad I had some fabric to make the interwoven crust with! I'm hoping to finish a quilt I'm in the middle of making. Instead of making a bunch of crazy quilt blocks, I'm doing the whole thing as one huge block. I'm also planning on working on blocks for the birthday block exchange and the mystery quilt I'm hosting for Aprils S-n-S group. But, right now, I think it's time to go bake some sugar cookies to enjoy with my coffee this morning! Have a great weekend everyone! Dan
