So, without further ado, I am pleased and surprised to say ... IT'S A TIE!!!! H. 'Winter Snow' submitted by Peren.all ________________________________ 'Winter Snow' is so appropriate as I live in a snowbelt! I don't have anything else like it amongst my hostas. But wait! I actually do have a relative of WS living in my garden - Sum & Substance! No wonder I was drawn to WS!!! It drew me in instantly when Peren.all posted it.... Ripples, beautiful leaf shape, lovely colour with a light margin and presence! ... all a big plus for this hosta, and the fact that it can take so much sun exposure!. I need such a hosta for the front garden. AND H. 'Goodness Gracious' submitted by Berndny _____________________ For two years now I've been fawning over this hosta whenever it was posted! Each picture, regardless of age of hosta, always stopped me and gave me pause. The wide margin and clean look overall got me. The sharpness of leaf colour is gorgeous. The rounder leaf shape and rather obtuse tip is also pleasing to me. It satisfies my yen for Satisfaction, Spartacus (although it's ripples really get to me) and a couple of other similar hostas. The fact that it is a sport of Satisfaction is a big plus! THANK YOU, one and all for your contributions once again. The hostas you chose as your Top Gun are all worthy of that honour! I've learned about some new hostas, received some great information and first-hand experience growing these and that is invaluable to me. I can't wait for spring! The next decision will be where will I go to purchase these? Hand-picking the hostas is the ultimate joy!!!! Here is another look at the winners. I have taken liberty and used your photos. Hope this thread was as enjoyable to you as it was to me. Thanks again, folks! Jo

It sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend, quilting or otherwise! Well, you know what they say about "idle hands", so I don't think we'll have any problems here, eh? Friday night we got hit with a fast-acting blizzard (2 feet of snow in just about 12 hours), so the state police closed the post office I work in, so I came home to a 4-day weekend. Yesterday I made a set of 4 coasters for the current Seeds-n-Stitches swap. I call them Grape Pie Coasters, and whenever they're washed, the "crust" will become more pronounced as they unravel a little. The blue fabric is the underside of the coaster, and I'm glad I had some fabric to make the interwoven crust with! I'm hoping to finish a quilt I'm in the middle of making. Instead of making a bunch of crazy quilt blocks, I'm doing the whole thing as one huge block. I'm also planning on working on blocks for the birthday block exchange and the mystery quilt I'm hosting for Aprils S-n-S group. But, right now, I think it's time to go bake some sugar cookies to enjoy with my coffee this morning! Have a great weekend everyone! Dan

Not really "hung up" on it. I see what the picture demonstrates, but what I am telling you is, if left "improperly locked" as pictured, for a couple of temperature cycles...they will never line up. I am not a JeldWen homer here...far from it. That said, if the windows were poor fitting and not lining up previously...and then "improperly locked" like that for any length of time...they won't line up. Call JeldWen and see if they can help with some sashes. In the meantime, I would delete the picture you posted or at least don't share it with the manufacturer as a demonstration of the failure. Feel free to show that deflection, but just don't have the cam lock in the frame. If they won't help you out, you'll need to push the windows to get the interlocks to engage and see if you can, maybe with an extra set of hands, get the cam lock to latch and leave them like that for a few warm days in the summer. It might help correct some of the deflection.

I too havent been here for yrs! moved to condo, no space :>( BUT this is SO inspiring!! stunning! I just finished an outdoor sign for my bro-in-law, forgot all my prev knowledge (used unsanded, etc, came out too white, blahblah..lol), so..we'll see..this is quite wonderful..(had a REAL pond at the house, miss it so..)
