It is my opinion that fabric softeners and sheets are unnecessary - PERIOD! If your clothing are "STIFF" coming out of your dryer, then you have a bigger problem, such as soap/detergent build-up. If you use these products to control static, there are ways to control it without toxic chemicals and perfumes from softener sheets and liquids. -If you experience static cling, then you are over-drying your clothes (especially if you have a mixed load of natural fabrics and synthetics). -Don't dry synthetic fabrics in the dryer. If you do dry synthetic fabrics, pull them out of the dryer before the load is completely dry. -You can spritz a dry load with a fine mist of water, tumble the load on "air" dry - no heat - a few times, and that will break the charge so you can remove the items without getting a shock. A fine mist of water is also a way to stop static cling if you are wearing garments that tend to get static. If you add these products so you have some mystical scent, such as "Spring Fresh", derived from chemicals, then add scent. -Grainlady

Wow!!! That is just beautiful, Minnie. You've got a challenge ahead of you to top that one for this year - LOL! I think the dryer sheets may be too thin (too many holes) to successfully emboss on them. I think about half the little crystals/pellets would drop through the holes. I've never tried to emboss, but think I may have the materials around here - somewhere! It would sure gussy up some of my cards. I'll have to dig around in my supplies and give the dryer sheets a try, and cards, too. And I sure love your gold background... that means if I want to do that, too, I'll have to eat many more Hershey bars before Christmas! Are we the only ones here, Minnie?? Don't have this dryer but I have a T9822 whose manual says don't use dryer sheets. Doesn't say anything about fabric softener in the wash. The filter in my dryer is like a fine mesh screen. You cannot see the holes in it which is actually much better than the filter in my previous model that looked like a screen you would see in a window, and it traps so much lint i have to clean it after each use or the dryer complains. I have a dedicated handheld vacuum that I use to clean this screen because it is so fine nothing else really cleans it well. In that previous model using dryer sheets clogged up that window screen filter so much that I would have to clean it under hot running water. I could remove the lint but a film was left. This makes me think that Miele is advising not to use dryer sheets in the machine because it will clog up your filter, your moisture sensor and who knows what else in the machine.

So far, we haven’t found a contractor to renovate the upstairs, and we close in two weeks. We found a guy who is willing to do the main floor – – install all hardwoods and renovate the kitchen – – but he won’t touch the upstairs. We probably won’t get to move in until February at the earliest. So I guess we will haul the giant Speed Queen up there and put it in the unfinished basement for large bedding. Then we have to decide whether to undergo a second floor renovation while we live in the house, or put the Bosch units in that awkward main floor closet. Hey, first world problems, right?
