But if you have the old stuff- look out-the new stuff does not work as well. Keep your receipt. I guess the tape itself changed as when i spoke with the old company they said they bought their tape from a US company in FL and then treated the product themselves- and now shurtape makes the tape and it has blead on me- old product good- new product- i am not sold- but it is much cheaper than before!!! at least at Lowes.

Oh, that would be everywhere, where the paint overlaps the tape. I was painting from 2 am to 4 am on Sat, Sun, and Tues nights. Ugggh! Thank you so much for telling me exactly what I have to do. I don't care if it takes a long time to remove the tape carefully, I want to protect my work!!! Painted rugs, hmmmmm. Right now they are in my fantasy brain. I don't dare share this with DH as we have so much on our plate already with finishing off the huge renovation job and moving by Sept 1. Then there is regular work and chasing children. So the painted rug is tabled, so to speak, until a rainy day.

Pulling tape half hour after painting is ideal, but it's not a big deal if you can't pull it until later either. You probably want to score the tape with a razor knife before pulling so that there is a clean break and you don't rip off any paint. You should read the can of paint which will say when you can recoat, though most acrylic paints are around 4 hours in good drying conditions. Yes, the paint can take up to a month to cure.

I've used the Green Frog tape consistently for the last few years, and have loved it. Much better results than any other painter's tape I've used. I had to repaint a half-bath a month ago, and decided to try Young House Love's method -using a specific brush that they love, without any tape. Wow -I had the room done in record time, and my edges have never been so clean and straight. So after that, I went back and touched up my son's room and my craft room, both of which I had painted in the last year. I was never 100% satisfied with the ''ceiling meets the wall' edge. Mostly because we have textured ceilings, which makes getting the tape to lay completely ice-straight is a real challenge (especially when you are teetering on a ladder). So I went back and did that line, in both rooms, using the brush recommended by YoungHouseLove, without any tape. And I'm astounded and thrilled at the ease and results.
