Trim, Cabinet and Ceiling Color to match

Does anyone! have some suggestions for a paint color that will match BM gray wisp. I have a gallon and want to apply to walls in a small narrow room. Laundry room. I just need paint color suggestions to consider for cabinets, ceiling and baseboard trim and door. Perhaps you have used this color and would have suggestions that you used. Thank you.

BenM's The Right White. Different gloss levels. Cabinets satin, ceiling flat, trim and door semi-gloss. But I like shiny glossy trim - you could do pearl on cabinets and satin on trim if you wanted.

Just be sure the check the physical gloss samples they have in the store so you can decide which one you like best.

That should be BenM's Super White. Restoration Hardware calls it The Right White - same color, different names and I often confuse the two.

I used the Design Craft cabinet -- another Elkay company. The whitish colors are mostly the same in all their lines. My trim was already painted BM White Chocolate before I chose the cabinet color. I brought the cabinet color samples home and had a lot of trouble deciding. One person on this board (sorry, can't remember who) suggested that it would be better to have a color difference between the moldings on the doors, etc and the cabinet bodies. I agreed that "close but a miss" would have been bad. II ended up with white chocolate cabinets at the last minute after having planned on Divinity for a couple of months. Divinity is a very nice color.. The BM White Chocolate is not the same as the Elkay white chocolate (Elkay is deeper, more like almond or bisque). I did use the cabinet color on the cabinet trim piece at the top. I think you have to get some big BM samples and try them out in the room. I like having the kitchen trim the same color as the trim in the rest of the house. It does not match the cabinets, but it blends. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you all so much for your input! I didn't like the mental image of shiny trim drawing attention to the ceiling, but I wasn't sure if leaving it as-is would be breaking rules, so to speak. I'll be quite happy not needing to paint it! Bronwynsmom, the ceiling is white. I realize painting it to match the walls would further blur the transition, but our house gets so little natural light that I like the brightness of the ceiling. If we were staying here longer, I'd need to install solatubes or something, but the current plan is to finish the improvement projects and put our place on the market.

It doesn't HAVE to be the same color of course. It's a nice finished look to have all the woodwork in the house match. Be sure it looks good with everything you're keeping--sink, counters, backsplash, floors. But wouldn't it be nice to have your pantry door not be the bright spot in your kitchen? :) (If you decide not to paint the cabinets, maybe just change that door!) In a previous remodel I had my new cabinets painted the color of my existing trim because I wanted white and I didn't want to find the perfect white when I already had a nice white that I knew looked good. Much less work deciding how to deal with trim, too. You can save a lot of effort sticking with the white that you know!

The photo shows a existing counter that you plan to replace? I would select a counter with colours between the creamy cabinets and white marble tile. And I would selects a different counter, same in between look for the island. white/creamy. Not gray.,

Thanks as I was giving up. I just wish I would not had purchased that gallon paint. Well its over and history.

Gray wisp is one of my all-time favorite paint colors. If you have a gallon of gray wisp, it'd be perfectly lovely in a laundry room.

Actually with help from this forum and a friend I will use the gray wisp in a bath. I have a white surround tub and white cabinets and white sink with dark mahogony vanity. So thanks as I think it will work well for the bath. Ive decided to do a different color in laundry it is BM Alexandria beige. so now I need a suggesting paint color for this new paint. Any suggestions, and thanks to all who replied and help it is very appreciated.

Change of heart may put the gray wisp in bedroom and have the white trim. However I have honey oak hardwoods. What are your opinions with that combo. Help.
