It's one of those dishes that is an assembly, rather than a recipe. The ingredients will vary by what's in season or available. Chop onions and garlic, maybe fresh tomatoes, maybe canned, maybe jarred salsa, cilantro, lime or lemon, and assorted spices/herbs, whatever I put my hands on.
Chunky by preference. Smooth reminds me of baby food.
My guac is pretty well just a crushed clove of garlic, a nice ripe avocado and juice of a lime....or half a lime depending on how large the avocado is and how juicy the lime and something hot....cayenne or hot sauce or a teaspoonful of hot green chili sauce. Just forked up...about the consistancy of egg salad. But I can also add chopped tomato, cilantro, chopped onion and chopped jalapeno....but I prefer it simple
Thanks for the suggestions,I will keep it simple then.I do have some serrano and some cilantro so those two things will go in for sure. Have a great afternoon!!
I just mush up the avocado w/ some salsa. A touch of cilantro would be nice, too, if it isn't already in the salsa. And I'll add some extra fresh diced tomato if I need to stretch it.
