What a nice post. Stacy I've enjoyed watching how your confidence in your cooking skills and photography skills have grown over the last 5 or 6 years. Your photos, well they are just beautiful and leave me craving everything.

Well I won't go so far as to say that Stacy was a baking dunce....but her photos are spectacular!
I too owe thanks to many...but I am so bad about remembering who's recipe I use....but here's a try.
Thanks to whoever first posted that summer tart I have made so many times, to whoever's wonderful lemon bars I make...very very lemony, and to Ginger for the popover recipe that never EVER fails to pop big and proud, to Bubbe/Renee for the chicken stock that contains everything but the kitchen sink, to someone for the cappucino muffins with the chocolate chips, To Ann T for the cream scones.....and that finger lickin' good caramel sauce...that I can't keep my fingers out of!
Also thanks to Weed for the dijon cream pork tenderloin, and whoever posted that orange ginger sauce for salmon and to whoever posted those southern angel biscuits with the butter milk.
So many things that I got here are now part of my regular repretoire !

Stacy, you're a doll face! I have always loved your enthusiasm and good nature.

I need to thank you. Your Pork Tenderloin with Olive and Capers is one of our favourite dinners. Every time I make it I think of you , Scott and Will and how much we enjoyed meeting you.

I've not been here too much lately...and really wanted to let you ALL know how much you are appreciated! There are many I didn't mention - I was only covering what I did during the past couple of weeks (with the exception of the pickles and tomatoes, but the dills were on my mind because it's about time to open some!)

Linda is almost always one of the first to come to my rescue when I post an urgent HELP! And sol - well, who doesn't she inspire???? I want to BE sol, when I grow up. :-) She makes me at least TRY to make meals look nice...

Lou, you're always quick to offer help and advice as well.:-)

I could go on and on and on - but I "used" so many of you during my apple bake off evening, I knew I had to post, and it just ballooned a little from there...:-)

Oh, and for those that don't know - I started a job! YES! a job. For the first time since Will was born.

I was sought out to be the part time business manager of our local library....preparing vouchers, handling the income and budget, working the desk - for 4 hours per day - 3 days per week. only while Will is at school. I told them I couldn't consider it because I won't give up my "vacation" time with him - 2 weeks at Christmas, 2 at Easter, all summer, etc....He is only 11, and I think that at this age, he will need my guidance as much if not more than in the past...

But they said I don't have to work when he doesn't have school! They bent over backwards - and while I wasn't completely thrilled about giving up my time, I am really enjoying it. ( They will also allow him to "volunteer" occasionally if I want to put some time in over the summer...)

Soooo, anyway - that's what's been going on with me!

Stacy, good for you, I think working in a library would be a great job, if I didn't slack off and try to read everything!

As for the Habanero Gold recipe, you are so much more than welcome. It's actually a Bernardin recipe, the Canadian version of Ball/Kerr, so the thanks really goes to them, but it's a good recipe. I have to make some myself soon, I've been out for a long time.

I also owe a lot of thanks to people here. To Deb for the breadmachine that I use about 3 times a week, it's a workhorse. Nancy, for thinking of me when I was divorced, broke and beating everything with a wooden spoon, she was kind enough to gift me with that big red KitchenAid mixer. All the members here threw me a birthday party the year I turned 50, when my husband of 30 years had just moved out and I was no where near where I thought I'd be at 30.

I use Ann T's scone recipe and Marilyn's lemon brownie recipe and Sol's molten lava cakes and Ruthanna's tomato basil butter and Jessica's Lime Chipotle marinade is so popular here that I can it when limes are cheap. I use SharonCB's pastry crust recipe and Lar's recipe for hummus and Algerian chicken and Readinglady for doubling that Habanero Gold recipe for me. There are a lot more, those are only the ones I remember right now!

So, I owe a lot of thanks to members here for expanding my cooking repertoire, and helping me to find new techniques and ideas.

Mostly, though, I need to thank everyone for their friendship and their willingness to help and for the fact that I know I can pick up my phone or sit at my computer and ask anyone of dozens of friends for prayers or advice or just to listen to me b*tch, and I know if I'm ever in their area, they'll be glad to give me a good meal.

Now THAT'S something to be thankful for, and if I've learned anything in the last decade or so, it's how rare really good friends are and how important it is to stay close to them.

Stacy....and I want to thank YOU for the kindness you showed in ordering for me that large gift cooking pot from USA for my daughter in Canada one year. Not only wrapping it beautifully in gift wrap and filling out the card, but shipping it to her. (One of those online shopping stores which doesn't ship cookware to Canada.....it might have been Amazon.)

Michelle treasures that pot and handles it with such care, never letting anyone near it with a metal spoon!

Stacy what a nice post! I also have many people to thank for helping me in so many ways with the sharing of their recipes with me. At this time, there are just too many to thank and I would hate to leave someone out so I will say thank you to EVERYONE here who has shared. There has never been a time when I have gotten on this board to peek that I haven't picked up a tip on how to store something or how to bake something better or roasting something a different way. I have so many recipes in my "To Try" file that I don't know if I will have time to make them all.

The photo tips (which I haven't had time to really research fully but will - thanks Sharon!) AND sharon I need to tell you that there is a possibility that I might be in the Canary Islands in February! We will have to wait and see with my hubby's business schedule (he will be traveling on business and I might meet him there).

What a nice thread! I too, owe thanks to many of you who have helped me in the last year.
