Okay...all you clever, crafty people, need ideas!

I will be making up at least 6 sets of

1-burp cloth

1-small bib (not shown, just sent the last out as a gift)

1-med bib

1-large bib

for a silent auction they are having for little Bradley. (2 yr old with stage 3 brain cancer)

I need some packaging ideas! I can see the outcome of pieces of fabric, but I have never been one for 'presentation'! :/ These are the burp cloths and bibs and some things that I have for possibly using to package. Ideas of ANY kind are welcome! I would like it so that people can touch them...they are very soft.

I am hoping to get a few more med bibs sewn and just have a couple of sets of those alone. Which leads me to another question.....would it be better to just do each (3 med bibs, 3 large bibs..etc) alone?

And little Bradley's parents thank you also!

Well, I can think of cool ways to package.. but I not if you want them to feel them! LOL..
What if you put fabric tape, or gosgrain ribbon hanging down from the hanger, two strands.. then use clothes pins to attach the bibs down the ribbon/tape so they can be seen. using colorful plastic clothes pins... big bow on neck of hanger

I think if it were me I'd put one of each together, you could fold them all in about the same size square, and tie them all together with a grosgrain ribbon. That way they could all be touched but stay together for the auction.

First, you have a very pretty pond. What is that light colored plant on the left of the picture, it kind of looks like a verigated spider plant? Wood around dirt and water tends to rot, so I don't know if the scrap wood will do you much good in the long run. I do think you could easily pull back a few feet to give the water a longer travel to the pond. I would build a small berm out of soil in which to set your waterfall basin. You might try hunting around for some rocks, sandstone or limestone etc, to help contain the dirt. A lot of people go to sites where new homes are being constructed, and ask the builders if they can have some of the rocks they're digging up. Or if you know someone with a pasture who might have some rocks that you could have. You'll need a piece of liner, long enough to cover the space you've decided on for your length. Be sure to overlap it with the existing liner in the pond so that no water can wash back up and escape.

I gave you a suggestion over at the KT (Home Depot hanging planters)...but that was before I knew what you were doing. I made the same balls when I got married for my reception hall. First of all..heads up!! Those battery operated lights are not bright nor long lasting. Tried that and what a challenge to go back & replace batteries on the wedding day! Once you have flowers on the ball-the battery ones barely show-honest. What I did was get a roll of chicken wire and formed balls to whatever diameter you want. (Mine were BIG ones-about 16") Make sure you wear gloves when bending into balls & as you mold into shape-just bend the wire ends over to secure. We had a dropped ceiling in the hall-so I ran extendion cords all above and along the places I wanted a lighted ball. When placing real strings of white lights on your ball-secure with bread ties-making sure the PLUG is at the TOP of the ball. True Value stores have hooks specific for the strips on a dropped ceiling-for you to hang your balls!! I made BIG tissue paper flowers in my colors and wired them to the ball, after placing the lights. Real pretty & showy!! NOTE: Don't wrap the lights to tightly to the ball, so if once the flowers are on-you can pull any lights furthur out so they show amid the posies. Hope this helps!

Thanks, all! Circuspeanut--oooh, what a lovely idea. My parents have a custom-built trash pullout (huge! It uses those giant black bags) with a small cutout above in the granite, which is covered by a custom cutting board. I think your sink-cover ties with that as my most coveted kitchen doohickeys. Fori--I just started posting to the forum, so there hasn't really been anything to follow until now! Now that I'm here, I'm hooked, of course. ;-) CEFreeman--I'd love to see your toe kick drawers! Mine don't use all the available space, but hey, they only took about 20 minutes and they make me happy. I'm a bit of a woodworking diletante, I'm afraid; I know just enough to think I can do far more than I really can. ;-) I greatly admire people with real building and woodworking skill, and I am so thankful to have a father who can (and generously does) step in and lend a hand when it gets a little over my head. I don't have a picture of today's efforts yet, but it involved another trip to ikea and a couple of these: Our cabinets are that same dark chocolate color inside and out. At first I thought, "How lovely, so nicely finished!" And then I put the first one on the wall. The base cabinet drawers get plenty of light shining in, but the wall cabinets are dark caves of mystery. In the daytime, the bright light shining through the windows leaves the dark cabinet in stark contrast and impossible to see. When it's dark outside, it's just all dark. Enter the sensor-activated Ikea light. I'm happy to report that these ikea battery operated Dioder LED lights work brilliantly in cabinets as well as drawers. My first thought was to put the sets into one of the large clear baby bottle banks. You could always have a few 'samples' displayed on a tiny clothesline with clothespins (or you could display/sell them all in groups of 3 or 6 on the little makeshift clotheslines if you had the wallspace at the auction).

Second thought is to roll them up and place them in the silicone cupcake liners (If they would even fit).

With Easter around the corner you may also be able to find some cute inexpensive baskets to display them in.

So nice of you to do this for little Bradley and his family! The bibs are so cute!!!

How sweet of you to do this to help little Bradley. The only suggestion I would have is, can you make a small blanket, perfhaps out of flannel, and use it to wrap the other items?

Great ideas!! I like the Easter basket idea! I may do a few different things to draw attention to them...so keep the ideas coming!

I am also making a chenille baby boy blanket...I have that one almost ready, if I get enough time, I will do another pink one for the auction too.

Nice work. Cut out cardboard boxes in the shape of upper torsos, with necks, and display them using double sided tape. One large bib, one smaller bib and a burp cloth over the shoulder.

the day after Valentines might be a good day to find an inexpensive Large teddy bear to put a bib on, pin a burp towel on its shoulder and add a clear handbag or celophane bag over his arm, filled with a couple more bibs and burp clothes. Find a basket to stuff with batting, throw on some pretty papper, put your bear and other baby things in it. Hmmm, still thinking.

I would have suggested the clear baby bottle banks as well. I don't think it's a good idea to leave it all unpackaged - then whoever wins it at the auction will have to wash it all right away due to all the "paws" that have touched them.
Maybe leave one or two out so they can feel what they are bidding on, and package the rest.

I would say leave one set out for the touchy,feely people and the rest put in clear bags as sets.I wouldnt want everyone touching them all either,especially the rings/toys JMO So nice of you to do this.

I saw on the Des Moines news tonight that Bradley's family's church is selling T-shirts that say "Bradley Buddy" as a fund raiser. It was on Channel 13.

My great gd likes her over the head bib. It is hard to describe but I would compare it to two bib sewn together with it being able to fit over the head, front and back. (Hole in the middle) does this make sense? Sides can be tied.

Yes...they are selling T-shirts, wrist bands. Lots of people doing anything that they can.
