There was a post on it a couple of weeks ago. I did a search but nothing came up. We went to see it on Tuesday and really enjoyed it. Our son, Shannon, was with us and he commented that if he had seen the title (without me telling him it was good) he probably would not have watched it. He did say that it was an excellent movie and he enjoyed it.

At the end of the movie a lot of the audience clapped.

Yes, Jean Claude Van Damme had a great body. DH was a smimmer and he has a totally different body. Slim waist, strong upper arms and a well formed butt from all the "flipper" actions. Talking about Gnomeo and Juliet. I saw the trailers and they looked interesting. We don't go to the movie theaters any more, but we're still interested in what's happening. I bought this video from the net and find it very interesting. Here is a link that might be useful: Dante

Bumblebeez - whenever I happen upon Last of the Mohicans while channel flipping I stop immediately and watch it again. It gets me every time. Last night it was on AMC - Story Notes, an AMC feature where they insert captions at the bottom of the screen with brief 'notes' about the film. It's the first time I watched one - the notes were interesting the first time, but I wouldn't want to see it that way again. But I discovered you can simply read a list of the trivia on AMC's web site. Here is a link that might be useful: AMC Story Notes - Last of the Mohicans

My kids, in their 30s, were unaware as the movie came out that this is a true story. I do wish that the background was more obvious or clear. The abdication and Mrs. Simpson and her reputation were touched on perhaps too lightly. Especially I would have liked to see more of a point made that this family had not been trained for the crown, expected to live a quiet life out of the limelight, and resented the spot that they were put in by Edward.

Oh Ann, that makes my heart glad, to know there's someone else out there who uses The Big L for a bit of happy. It's kind of a joke here....whenever we debate what movie we should watch, everyone always knows my answer. :-) I did not know about the store in NYC. But, I have seen articles on Dude Fest activities. And I have seen the prices for those Pendleton sweaters on eBay. Oh my... So, we saw Hamlet tonight. It was an encore of the live satellite performance from December. We have also seen a few operas this way. It is really an experience. More than the price of a movie ticket, but far less than the price of seeing it live, of course. The actor who played Hamlet was simply stunning. The direction and acting helped bring the Shakespearean language more into the vernacular for me, made it all easier to understand. I am not sure how to describe it, but I understood more of the language than I ever have before. If this kind of theatre comes to a city or town near you, I highly recommend it.

We saw it and liked it, I think there's no way Colin Firth can't win the AA. But I didn't realize Geoffrey Rush was also up for one. Some guy sitting behind us snored through the whole thing!

Some guy sitting behind us snored through the whole thing! I'd say that was my DH, but we haven't seen it yet. lol My hubby has fallen asleep at the movies on more than one occasion.
We had planned on going last weekend, but we got snowed in. Maybe next weekend?
