Salvia on Dr. Phil
Comments (11)I didn't hear about this until last year. Granted, I'm only just out of college, and since high school there's always gossip about what will get you a cheap high, and the item changes weekly it seems. Never being one to touch any of that crap, it was quite hilarious to step back and think "Wow ... that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard". When I first heard about divinorum, I thought BS at first. I took notice when the local paper put out an article (and of course, being the conservative community we are, "Thousands of kids are addicted in our high schools! Legal high runs rampant through high schools!" etc. Panic in the streets. Only AFTER the article came out, did I see no more than 6 kids come into the nursery, asking if we sold Salvia. I pointed out the salvias (some in the herb section, some splendens, guaranitica, and coccinea in the Annuals) for them. They asked me with interest 'How do you use the herbal ones?' and I responded with 'adding flavor to bland cooking, drying and hanging to look like a fancy herb grower. And they smell good *scratches leaf* Mmmm ... pineapple'. They left dissapointed, and after 3 weeks never heard about it again. Except once from some concerned mothers, who I basically told we didn't have the drugs they were looking for....See MoreDr Phil today....Thursday
Comments (11)I had to be gone when it was on today, taped it, and just now finished watching. Bizarre is a good description. There was a case against the head guy where I used to work. He was so arrogant and cocky about how the case would never be proven...he was innocent, etc. During hearings, he kept saying things like "I'm innocent, give me a lie detector test and I'll prove it". Well lawyers on the other side had had enough of him so finally said 'yes, and if you pass conclusively, my client will drop the case'. Oh, you should have seen him. At first he was all nervous, then he calmed greatly, and agreed. He honestly thought he could con the lie detector AND the administrator of the test. He failed so miserably, it wasn't one bit funny. But to this day, if anyone would question him, he'd say it was rigged so he'd fail. Shirley...See MoreAnybody see Dr. Phil today?

Comments (5)Didn't say. The mom said at one point that her daughter is home until a court hearing on August 31. Dr. P said he would continue to follow/update the story. She was seen by the phsychiatrists who determined she is "sad," somewhat depressed, naive, and lacks interpersonal skills. The compared her to a 12 y/o in how she relates to other people. They didn't really provide closure to the story yet....See More- 18 years ago
