lol funny you ask ...it started off doing pretty well. It was growing and filling out nicely, probably about 3.5 x 2 (but probably not fully grown yet). There weren't tons of flowers but they were large, gorgeous and the fragrance was incredible. I did plant it deep. It did tend towards some bs and/or mildew but the blooms were worth it (for me at least). For most of my roses, I let them get established and then stop winter-protecting once they are "old enough" to take care of themselves. After several years, none of my roses get winter protected except the David Austin "Evelyn". Last winter, I only protected about half the amount I normally would to start weaning it off winter protection. However, in Toronto, last winter was pretty horrible in that we had periods of time of freezing cold temperatures, really cold even for us, but very little snow and snow cover. Come this Spring, Yves was dead. A lot of people lost quite a few garden plants, lots of things didn't make it, and Yves is clearly VERY borderline hardy (even Celine Forrestier makes it through my winters now with no winter protection other than fallen leaves). Live and learn I guess. I waited throughout this summer to see if it might come back but no luck. I will be buying another for next year as the blooms were wonderful and I definitely want it in my garden. I will however be winter protecting completely from now on ... just like Evelyn ... I guess some roses will just always need that here :)

Hi Sue, I’ve only had mine for a year. It was a own root gallon size plant. There is a long growing season here in Georgia so roses put up really nice growth. She has stayed compact but she is still a baby. She has a pleasant round form. Relatively healthy. The blooms are a very pale yellow that do fade to white so if you want a more pure yellow I would look at the Poet’s Wife. Didn’t really detect much fragrance but again, a baby plant. Nice, and really unique. You will just have to keep your eyes open for something that will work with that. Take the measurements down for what will work, you may get lucky and find something. The mirrors got separated on those vanities for hanging separately or just got broken. If you can find something maybe a simple round mirror with a black frame would work hanging on the wall above it. Before you try and strip and refinish check out re-amalgamation of varnish finishes. Google term or go to YouTube. Hint, if you can use this technique do it with a light hand if you want to retain patina. Also, don't remove patina from the drawer handles, just remove and give them a good scrub with soap and water. Here is one of many videos...I've used what is called mineral spirits, it's called whatever the guy uses in England, same stuff. Just check out YouTube videos. https://youtu.be/F9SsSF1Qv_Q Maybe not even use steel wool as this guy recommends. First try a gentle approach with a white cotton cloth dipped in mineral spirits. The process basically disolves the varnish, removes some, then the varnish re-hardens/drys. It happens rather quickly too. That is if it's natural varnish that was used, which is more likely than not. Doing a test spot will quickly tell you if it is varnish rather than polyurethane, basically nothing much will happen to finish if poly.
