Gaps after shimming cabinets

Kind of stumped here- would appreciate any advice.

I'm installing cabinets on a linoleum floor. Neeeded shims to level them and everything looks good. The shims, of course, create gaps between the cabinets and floor.

For the fronts, the toe kick will cover the gap. But how about the sides? I've got a gap that goes from about 3/16" to zero. What's the best way to deal with this?

I'm thinking caulk, trim, or cutting a thin strip of hardwood to fit in there. The problem with caulk is that it really collects dirt and dust- I hate it in the kitchen. Also, it wouldn't be quite the same color.

As for trim, using something like quarter-round trim doesn't appeal to me either- it just seems out of place. And the thought of cutting a very thin piece of hardwood to slide under the side of the cabinet seems rather difficult.

Thanks very much for any help or suggestions.
