I have tried the larger one too...cooked 2 min...in a Corningware "skillet". Turned out really really good. Thanks everyone! (I am going to try a 3 cup one in that 'skillet' as there are 3 of us here.)

I had used spice cake and I think it's too bland. I may just add a little cocoa to see that helps. Otherwise, the concept is great.

I'm still trying to find a happy medium.

Today I made it in a (2 cup size) soup bowl, with the original recipe, cooked it for the 1 minute. It was the best so far, but not great, like some have said.

I'm wondering about the 3 tablespoons; is that level, or heaping? I've used level; which do you use?

Nanny98, I have a Corning ware dish 6 1/2 inch size; didn't know it was a "skillet." :-) Is that the size yours is? If so, I'll try that next time.

Sue va.....I call it a 'skillet' because it has a handle on it, but it is 6 1/2". It has become my favorite (I have at least 4, picked up at yard sales) microwave dish.(they also have lids) I put left overs in them very often. The 6 1/2 inch 'skillet' was perfect for the doubled cake.....I am not a precise measurer....just kinda shook the TBS level. Good luck with yours.

Just wondering what wattage your microwaves are. Seems like time adjustment required for me to try the 'larger' size. My Panosonic is 1200 watts, and the cake had a hard burn spot in the middle.

I have no idea of wattage. Mine is above the stove and I think that info is on the back of the MW.

Your probably talking about those "visons" cookware small casserole dishes they hold about 2-3 cups. Any glass bowl would work as long as its large enough.
