Coconut cream in recipe

I bought all the ingredients today to make a "Royal Coconut Cake" from a recipe I found in Tea Time magazine. The only thing couldn't find was coconut cream, I searched all over the store. But, I asked the clerk at WalMart if they sold coconut cream and the only thing she could think of was the cans of "Cream of Coconut" that is used to make Pina Coladas. We couldn't decide if this is what I needed or not, when I shook the can it didn't sound like a thin liquid. Finally I took a couple of cans ($2.28ea.), asked a few more people on my way to the checkout, they weren't sure either, then ended up telling the cashier I didn't want it afterall.

So my question is - what should I use? When I got home I read the recipe for the coconut filling one more time and it says "2 Tbsp. of coconut cream". Would that crm.of coconut have worked? Here is the recipe:

1 1/4c. heavy cream

3/4c. sugar

2Tb. coconut cream

1Tb. cornstarch

1Tb. milk

1cup shredded coconut

1 stick unsalted butter

Sounds like the liquid would be thickened with the cornstarch doesn't it? Sure wouldn't have needed two cans of the stuff either - ha. Note to self: take recipe with you next time.
