Do you like any celebrity perfumes?

After wearing "the good stuff" (Chanel No. 5, Joy, Amarige) all my life, I wasn't tempted when celebrities started coming out with perfumes bearing their names. But my granddaughter gave me Sarah Jessica Parker's "Lovely" a few years ago, and I liked that a lot. More recently I smelled Faith Hill's perfume by the same name, and loved it. It's very floral, which is probably why I'm drawn to it.

Sorry but I don't like perfume at all. I'd rather sit in a smoking section than next to someone wearing perfume...

I rarely buy perfume or wear it, but I did ask for a bottle of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers "G" last year for Xmas cause I love the little bottles they are in. It smells good too... a little coconut-y, reminds me of the beach.

Well I'm boring...I have fixtures from Pottery Barn. After spending a year with cheap bars that literally fell off the wall when you put a towel on them, we were ready to spend anything for a high quality towel bar and hook. The pottery barn pieces have lovely finishes (I have nickle and oil rubbed bronze...I'm doing three bathrooms) and they are sturdy as all get out. They don't come with cheap little plastic wall anchors, but instead have metal screw in anchors that are very high quality. I also have polished brass fixtures in my powder room which are lovely quality. They're from Restoration Hardware. Similar quality if not better than Pottery Barn (the ceramic soap dish was nicer). I only have the nickle pieces installed so far (we just moved in yesterday). I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow. Maybe I'll be lucky and get the ORB pieces installed in the master LOL

if I don't have green beans from the garden...occasionally I'll throw in a can of mushroom soup...I would dare do that to my freshly canned green beans.... Mary it must be nice to have fresh food at every meal...I wish I had the time or the love of cooking to do that...I guess without people like me...that aisle at the grocery store would be a thing of the past!

Yes, always. DD will cook me a lovely birthday dinner and back my favorite Wolferman's Rum Cream Pie instead of a cake. I will receive gifts, only 1 or two and fairly modest. I always cook DD's birthday dinner and I bake an angel food cake for DD and two local grandsons. There are also modest presents. DS lives too far to do this but I do send presents to him and his children. This year, he couldn't figure out what he wanted, so decided that I should take him and his children to tea (my treat) in London next week. That will be an expensive Bday present as a really lovely tea in London is quite expensive, but it will be a special treat for all of us. We've never been "go out to dinner" on Bday people - my mother cooked my dinner, I cooked my husband's and children's and fixed their favorites.

Interesting Oakley that Wood Sage and Sea Salt had such a bad beginning for you. But glad it was pleasant in the end. I've had other things like that but can't remember what they were right now. And sometimes I've had the opposite too of something I thought I liked originally then after a bit it was terrible. Thank goodness for samples!!! For you 'bad dog smell', if they are rugs, I'd set them outside in the sun and fresh air a few hours and that always did it for my Mom when we had a dog. Of course if the rug is large, that's no easy task! I had great luck with bad smells from a healthcare worker that we had for my Dad not too long ago. Talk about perfume overload!! She used essential oils, smoked cigarettes and then tried to cover all that up with some sort of strong cleaner or laundry detergent and a strong mouthwash!! I could smell ALL the layers. Yuk!! I was gagging and could not get 10 feet from her. We had to cover the chair she sat in with a blanket so it wouldn't permeate the fabric. My Dad had lost most of his sense of smell and he smoked cigars so it did not bother him plus she was great with him so I just put up with it. But I couldn't stand it and by the 3rd evening we had gotten an Orek air purifier. It was a larger newer model that I had used before but worked fantastic. I could now be in the same room with her. And by the next day, it was the freshest smelling room in the house. And she was no longer ruining the furniture. Maybe this could work for you? No I don't work for Orek or anything, just reporting what worked well for us and saved us from having to fire an otherwise great worker. The new bigger one we used is called Orek DualMax Air Purifier and the smaller size we had before was called the XL Professional Air Purifier. I've since even used the big one to get cigarette smoke and mothball smells out of a few leather purses and after a few days they smelled like leather again. In fact, I'm doing this same thing as a favor for a few friends of mine. Hope you can find something that can help you.

I'm not familiar with very many of them, but Jenifer Lopez has one that I thought was nice. SJP,' Lovely is pretty.
I don't know if she counts as a celeb, but I've always really lined Jessica McClintoc's perfume.

I like one of Britney Spears perfumes. Can't recall the name of it, but I liked the tester I tried around two Christmases ago.

I don't "do" perfumes. I used to wear Emeraude (spelling?) in a green bottle, when I was WAY young, because my Grandma wore it! ewww stinkypoo! lol

When we emptied my parents house last year I ended up with most of Mom's perfume and my favorite is the Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely. I would never have even tried it otherwise probably. I love it! I was also given a bottle of Cabotine, sent from Canada for my birthday a couple of years ago, and it's another scent that's clean and fresh smelling. I get complimented on both frequently.

I've never even smelled any of the celebrity perfumes. The only perfume I wear is L'Heure Bleue by Guerlain (the same company that makes Shalimar).

My daughter gave me some "Lovely" and I like it a lot.
She worked at a perfume counter for awhile and now it seems she's allergic to many of them.

I seldom wear perfume, but I have smelled some of those mentioned, and like them. One of my granddaughters had Lovely on her list, and I bought it for her.

I don't like to many perfumes but I always have channel # 5 around. On my top 3 list would be a perfume called Viva la Juicy by Juicy Couture.
a scent of wild berries, mandarin, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine.

When I was first working, one of my co-workers used to wear Shalimar. Every time I smell it I think of her. She was no celeb, just a very nice lady. Roberta Fox.

If/When I wear perfume..it's Mackie (by Bob Mackie). Several months ago, a lady at the grocery store had on a perfume that smelled SO good..I asked her what she had on! lol It was Fairy Dust (by Paris Hilton..I think)

I wouldn't know as I seldom wear perfume. I am always afraid it might be too strong for someone, like at church. Anyway there is a person there that wears something that is really hard to have to smell. So I just don't wear any myself.

I love perfumes but for some reason don't like the idea of wearing one named after some celebrity. I was given SJP's Lovely by a friend but don't care for it.

The last three gift buying holidays I've gone out and tried to find a new cologne for my DH that isn't named after a celeb. So far, no luck. He's already got many of the classics (Polo, YSL, Arimis, Old Spice, English Leather, etc.). I'll be trying again tomorrow as I go in search of a new fragrance to get him for Valentine's Day.

So no, I don't like the idea of wearing something named after a celeb, although I guess old celebs are fine since I love Chanel and DH likes YSL (Yves Saint Laurent). :-)

I don't buy something just because it has some celebrity's name on it. Perfume or clothes. There is no one who I'm that impressed with. A friend who used to work at a perfume counter in a Dept. store told me that the 'testers' they put out are not the same as the perfume/cologne you buy. It has more oils in it so it will linger longer on the skin. This was not nice, but once she exchanged the tester for the reg perfume in the box and let me buy that. When i used it, I would use a very little and I could smell it for several days. Dottie

I wasn't thinking of designers as celebrities, but I agree--I love her perfume! I've never used it, but I asked for it this Christmas. However, I didn't get it. :-)

I know what you mean, Jodi. And I hardly ever listen to country music. So when I was returning some Lands End stuff at Sears, and saw big pictures of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in the perfume section, I wasn't expecting to find anything I particularly liked. The Faith Hill scent really surprised me. (I didn't sniff the Tim McGraw, but maybe I should have.)

I actually did try Faith Hill's perfume but it was a little too light and flowery for me but perfect for Faith, or at least the image I have of her.

I guess if designers are not considered celebs, then liking YSL and Chanel is not going against my personal sensibilities. :-)
