I think I had some sort of fungus on my nail and bottom of my foot, I used Tea Tree Oil. I put it on in the mornings before putting my socks on and in the evenings before bed, sometimes at lunch hour too. In a week or ten days my feet were so much better!
I use a foot rasp on my heels and couldn't figure out why my heels always looked so cracked and yucky even with the rasp, once I used the Tea Tree Oil they also looked better!
Tee Tree Oil is anti-fungal, my medicine cabinet will never be with out it, its good for many things. Do a search and you will read lots of good things about it.
The drug store has it, I haven't checked Walmart, but I'd think they may too. I paid about $9 for an ounce. I put it on with a Q-tip and cotton balls, but found the cotton balls would snag on my cracked heels.

Tea Tree oil.

10% Boric Acid in Mineral oil. You could mix it up yourself, but I'm no chemist, so my pharmacist does it for me.

Clip toenail as short as you can, and keep it short throughout the treatment.

Soak toe in warm water daily, dry, then apply mixture (after shaking well) with a q-tip to the entire nail and a bit under the tip (it's hard to get there). The nail usually grows out in about a year, it will take about that long to get rid of the fungus.

I'm almost done! I think about two more trimmings to go.

I heard you can use Vicks on it too??? My mom heard this from her dr. I agree tho that Tea Tree Oil is good for alot of things. My DD and my DS's GF get a TTO facial wash from the Body Shop and they both swear by it. They get panicky if they run out. My DD has used it for years.

I heard listerine too, you soak your feet in it for 10 min. every day,for at least 2 weeks you can pour it back in the bottle after using it too, since your only using it for your feet.

I also used Tea Tree Oil...and it worked for me too.

The commercial on tv will tell you the medicine has to come from within...NOT true.

I does take awhile...because it's takes awhile for your toenail to grow out. But once you start using it...it won't take long to see pink showing at the base of your nail.

I just dip a Q-Tip in it and put it around the edge and on the nail itself. The nail is porous and it will soak in.

My nail was so thick and nasty it was growing sideways. There was no cutting it...it just crumbled. Now it is flat and pinkish...just like it should be.

That was about four years ago..Then this fall I could tell it was starting again..so I started using it again.

I think it would be a good idea to dab it on every once in awhile.

Tea Tree oil can be bought at most any drug store. I bought mine at Walmart for about $5.00. That bottle lasts a long long time.

I knew I had read in Dr. Gott's column, so I searched and it is Vick's Vapor Rub that many of his readers have used for toenail fungus. The site I was looking at said it might take from 3 to 6 months. Also, one person said their doctor told them they would have to get rid of all their shoes so as not to reinfect the toenails.

DH's nail on the big toe was yucky yellow & so thick I couldn't cut it. Unable to do it himself he teased about calling in a Farrier.
Read about Vicks, grabbed it out of the medicine cabinet & smeared that nasty looking thing. After only nights of applying it & I began to see pink again. "Old yaller" dropped off & he's never had another problem.

Tea Tree Oil is going on my shopping list too. Sounds like great stuff.

I had a toenail fungus several years ago. I got rid of it by soaking my toe in Pau d' arco tea from the health food store a couple of times a week. Just heat up about a cup of water and put a spoon of the tea in it. Let it cool and then soak your toe. Used a small tin soup can for a container.

I also got in under the nail and dug aout any thing that would flake off. That allowed more room for the tea to get under the nail and have more surface contact. Toe nails grow pretty slow. The fungus was all gone when the nail did finally grow out.
