orb hardware and chrome faucet?

anyone have that combo in a stainless sink? I am thinking it is a go, and trying to visualize the finish on lighting and other miscellaneious stuff.

Is it logical to lump the sink (faucet and sink) as one thing and then the hardware as another?

YES! (totally logical) My only hesitation is maybe you could get a faucet without a polished (shiny) finish, so it would "blend in" even more with your sink. ???

In our previous house, we had a white cast iron sink, a polished chrome faucet and iron rubbed bronze (they were black) knobs, and I think everything looked just fine.

that's exactly the combo I'm leaning towards - stainless sink/chrome faucet ORB knobs. In my opinion - it works.

I'm so glad I opened this thread. That is exactly what I'm planning. I like the sparkle of chrome near the sink and mirror. Plus it cleans up easily. However, I've had my heart set on ORB door hardware, ever since I saw those Emtek egg shaped glass knobs with ORB rosette. david c -- I hadn't thought about the overhead fixtures looking cheap in chrome. Now that you mention it, I think I agree.

You made me laugh with your last sentence.... I have 3 finishes as well in the kitchen, appliances are ss, hardware and pendants are nickel and faucets are orb, I carried the orb in the light fixtures and the nickel in the hardware on the cabinets into the family room which is open to the kitchen. I think as long as you have the tie in to the other areas as you mentioned you should be ok.

I might consider going with something completely different for the hardware to avoid having all of the silver possibilities. Chrome (cool and polished) Nickel (warm and polished), stainless steel, (warm and brushed) and pewter (warm and matte) If you go for something completely different it will look like you weren't going for "anything silvery is close enough". This is one of those decisions that can be kind of tough that was easier when polished and silver = chrome and brushed and silver = SS and that was it.

My home has Oil Rubbed Bronze or rather Black door hardware - with glass handle knobs. We have chrome fixtures and smaller glass knobs for the vanity. They say in the design circles every room needs a touch of black and red. If you like it. Done and done....

That's what I've got.

SS sink, brushed faucet. And ORB everything else.

Definitely works- and I get lots of favorable comments on my ORB hardware- no one thinks twice about faucet not 'matching'.

I think a chrome faucet is classic and goes with anything. Kind of like the little black dress in the kitchen. I picked a chrome faucet for that very reason.

We did that too - all our knobs and door handles are ORB as well as light fixtures. The appliances are white and sink is SS. Our faucet is Chrome/Ikea. Initially the faucet was only supposed to be temporary until I found something better/pull out, but it's grown on me and I'm not used to having a pull out and for $200 more, I just don't care anymore so it stays. I considered switching it this week to use the kitchen faucet for the new laundry tub.

How timely and easy! I have been thinking it through and have decided that it probably what I will be going for as well. ( and its not a bad thing either that chrome is the least costly for faucets:)

I did ORB lighting fixtures/cabinet hardware and stainless sink/oven/dw and brushed faucet/soap dispenser (Grohe). I felt the faucet went very nicely with the sink and other SS finishes. I wanted things to go well together, but I didn't want too matchy-matchy.

It's 3 years post-renovation, and I'm still happy with that choice.
