Secrets of Google Earth

Here's a guy with way too much time on his hands. LOL

Actually, some of it's pretty cool.

Jodi, don't think I'm crazy. Well, actually I am but didn't mean to submit that response. I was testing the link to see how the embed tag will show. Since IVillage stripped the ability to embed, I needed to see how it was going to look. I just clicked randomly on a thread without looking and without intention of posting. But like I said, I'm crazy. I apologize.

You're forgiven. I just figured it was the code to another "secret" Google spot. :-)

That is kewl and you're right, way too much time LOL. Wonder how he found all those places or how long it took? My cousin scares me and makes me wonder if he can see inside my apartment from Google Earth. I scare easily.

Even if I had the time I wouldn't have enough sense of adventure to search for all that stuff.

Some of the objects were so small I couldn't make them out.

Having instruments that can make it possible to do that is beyond the imagination of my poor little pea brain.

I bet the guy or guys involved are making big bucks with it though.

I've never seen Google Earth so clearly before- usually it's pretty blurry when you get that close to something. Is he using some sort of focusing software I wonder? That was really awesome!

    Jodi, U add so much!
    Thanks!

    Jodi, thanks! That was awesome!

Cool! I've only seen one of those before (we "surf" Google earth every now and then), the white horse in England. They did not show one we found, people playing ping pong in the water at Bondi Beach in Australia.

Jodi, When I click on the link you provided, it takes me to the site, but I can't view the video. The part of the screen where the video is is all white. Do I have to be a member of metacafe to view it, or am I doing something wrong?
    thanks, Katlan

    That was great!
I have the same question as Haley, about the detail.

Wow...how cool is that, and I loved (most of)the music as well. I few of the pics looked a little fake to me...did they to anyone else?

My cousin scares me and makes me wonder if he can see inside my apartment from Google Earth. I scare easily.
I'm a little alarmed too that someone 'could' invade my privacy, even when outside doing whatever I do. Occasionally I do (what I hope are ) private things outside ,particularly when gardening, if I'm rather busy.

Did anyone else see 'too much' poolside?...lol

    Katlin,
I'm wondering if possibly you don't have whatever program is needed to view it. Is there maybe any kind of a message at the top that tells you that such and such is needed to view it. I have had that happen b4 at other places, and once I got what was needed, I could view whatever it was OK.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the video. Glenda, you're so sweet.

I have never been to the Metacafe before so I'm sure you don't have to be a member or sign in to view videos there. You do however need Adobe Flash Player 9. Go the link below to download it if you're having problems.

I don't know why this video would be easier to see than previous Google Earth viewings. Perhaps you viewed with an earlier version of Google Earth or maybe the guy has Google Earth Pro (though I'm don't know what the Pro version buys you).

I did see a bit more than expected poolside. And I do believe, someone needs a shave. LOL

I was sitting there saying to myself, "Self, you're surely not seeing what you think you are seeing."

    Well, I guess I was then...LOL

Oh, and thanks for sharing the link Jodi.

My brother was a Major in the Military, Intelligence division. His job was working with other Intelligence Officers from North America and Europe, to interpret satellite video footage over areas of interest in the Middle East, and countries around the former U.S.S.R. I asked him once just how closely they could get the images. He replied that if someone was standing on a streetcorner reading a newspaper, they could tell you which paper they were reading.

I love Google Earth, I have looked up every address I have ever lived at! So much fun!
