Who Dat, Two Dat season has begun!

I didn't have time to make cookies with my fleur de lis cookie cutter from Jessy, so I used it to cut the leftover pizza for my kids' lunch today. If the Saints win, they will have Fleur de lis pancakes for breakfast in the morning.

Tonights meal will be muffalettas and seafood gumbo. I've already told my kids they are to do their homework early and not bother me ---- I'm watching the game!!! I'm kind of dreading it though, I love the Saints and I love Brett. I don't want either of them to start the season with a loss.....

Good luck! Hope you all go back to the Superbowl, but it will be sad for you to lose to my Pats! We are also going to be glued to the TV tonight - everyone in the family has a Fantasy Football team so there are important players to watch.

Dinner will be whatever form of takeout we decide to get. I'm not in the mood to cook!

Got all my goodies prepared and waiting with baited breath for the game to start. I didn't have time to make cookies from my fleur de lis cookie cutter either! But I've got a veggie tray, muffalettas, and salty potato chips ready to go. Oh, and a crab dip in case we are hungry after we eat! LOL!

Oh Daniella and Deb thank you. I love every little thing that I get to enjoy. Even if it is another blossom that I have never had before. Nice to be almost a beginner gardener lol. I just love purple and the double one just has a LOT of it :-) Beth thanks. It is a thing with e bay. If I would have been on GW BEFORE I started buying seeds and ask who we can trust and who not. I think I would have faired a lot better. It is ok. You life and learn. There is so much sorrow, sadness and devestation out there that not getting the right blossom is such a minor thing I hope you all know that I feel blessed for everything I can enjoy while it last and having so many buddies here that share the passion of gardening. Hi KHT, Got my seeds in the mail today and I will be working on Project A. I too am thrilled to grow your babies and see exactly what we get. One very special seed is going in the ground tomorrow morning. The temps here in Texas are still decent. We have not had a freeze or frost yet and there is not one in the 12 day forecast. Some of my triple yellow and 1 double purple did great in the shade. The purple hardly got any sun except for maybe 2 hours when the sun was directly overhead. Had whites blooming in the shade to but don't know if they grow well because it took me too long to plant them and they were stuck in little peat pellets quite a while. One of those latter factors (too late or too long in a small pot) is probably responsible if not both. I only had the 2 'hardy' varieties of white and the yellow in full sun. They did well too. Only the belle blanche I am sure are hardy in my zone, as reported by the neighbor who gave me the seeds. He also says their root system can be a problem if left in too many years. They have a tuberous system and seem quite controllable but I'll checking on them each year. Maybe they have runner roots that start babies off them like the southern dreaded Trumpet vine. -Sandy

Thanks Nat! :) I agree about delphiniums....they're one of my favorite flowers except that whenever we get heavy rain & wind, down they go! Right after I took that picture they ended up in the mud. I have too many plants to stake everybody. So, I didn't lose as many daylilies as I originally thought. It took forever & ever for Rapid Eye Movement, Born to Run, Siloam Cinderella and Terry Lyninger to show signs of life. They each came up in mid-June! All appeared as single, pitiful fans but at least they're alive. I was about to plant something else in their places when they appeared. The two that are definitely DEAD are Navajo Princess and Berry Cheesecake. I dug and they were nothing but mush. Both were pretty but I won't replace them. Prior to this past winter I had never lost a daylily so I guess I should consider myself lucky. I do have a couple of daylilies that dwindled down from clumps to just a few fans, though. I just cut my finger with newly sharpened knives. DH will have to finish our meal! Bleeding like a Saint right now! LOL!

Are you bleeding because of the score? We're watching too, and cheering for the Saints. I know they will turn it around. I just needed to watch on a local channel in case there are banner updates on the fire.
