I was gone so I missed her in the DWTS gown, what happen, & how did she look? Is there a picture of it anywhere, I'd love to see.

Rachael Ray overcomes her fear by showing some skin in skimpy 'Dancing with the Stars' dress

no I did not see it but there are pics of her all over the web

I caught the very end of the show just in time for the unveiling. The style was not becoming to her. And it was far from skimpy - it certainly didn't look like the revealing costumes we see on DWTS.

I've only watched season 1 of dexter...pretty good. It's odd when I find myself cheering for the serial killer...there's something attractive about characters possessing extraordinary traits and yet exhibiting weaknesses or vulnerabilities. Hence the vampire craze, perhaps. Q - I'm a really bad reader and rarely venture outside of genres I'm used to, which happen to be alternative reality fiction, near-future science fiction, anything involving supernatural things (clearly I have a problem with reality) and other social commentary related works....with that said, I almost ALWAYS enjoy what people have recommended me even though at first I'm always apprehensive over things like autobiographies and historical fiction. I like the direction this thread is heading so I'm going to shamelessly steer it towards that direction. Favorite reads, everyone? Anyone? For me: The Chrysalids - John Wyndham Martian Chronicles - Ray Bradbury A Fine Balance - Rohinton Mistry Brave New World - Aldous Huxley Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte (I know...wtf right) Angraecoid Orchids: Species from the African Region - Joyce Stewart (sorry I just had to...I'm obnoxious)

My DH was watching and I finally got sucked in for the last few episodes -- so I didn't watch all the lead-ups. One thing that occurred to me . . . until recently, and for the last 32 years, I lived in a small resort town. We had one grocery store, except for a glorious 2-year period with a real supermarket, with specialty foods -- it closed. So if my one store didn't carry an ingredient, or was out, I faced a 40 minute trip to find it, or change my menu -- which in reality, is what I did. For out-of-the-ordinary ingredients, I just had to plan ahead -- for my out of town shopping trips. Harissa -- not a chance! I wonder how many other fans live in areas where Jeffrey's exotic ingredients would be difficult to obtain. Incidentally, I'm now in a town with 4 (count 'em!!) supermarkets, the smallest of which is larger than my former one!! Oh, my!!!

Oh, I remember now, it was Justin Wilson. :) Here is today's recipe from the Oklahoma Gardening show: Spicy Green Bean Salad 2 cups green beans (about 1/2 to 2/3 pound fresh) 1 cup finely chopped peeled cucumber 1/2 cup chopped red onion 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro 2 tablespoons white wine, cider or sherry vinegar 2 teaspoons chopped fresh jalapeno pepper 1 teaspoon honey 1/2 teaspoon salt 1. Trim stem ends from green beans. Cut beans into 1/2-inch pieces. Bring a large saucepan 3/4 full of water to a boil. Add beans and cook 2 to 5 minutes until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp. Drain beans, and then submerge in a bowl of ice water for 2 to 5 minutes, until chilled. Drain again and set aside. 2. In a large bowl mix all ingredients. Cover and store in the refrigerator at least 2 hours to allow flavors to blend. Serves 6. Any good "new" series programs to Watch?

I'm not much of a tv series watcher like I used to be. Our son tells us that we should watch The Americans, because it is very (scarily) realistic in how other hostile countries infiltrate here. Maybe. I do enjoy Big Bang Theory and am looking forward to it's spin-off, Young Sheldon. And, I'm anxiously awaiting the next season of Designated Survivor, which I love and do watch every week. Other than that, I don't watch much tv these days, except for the morning and evening news, and some HGTV (mainly Property Brothers and Fixer Upper). Right now, DH and I and rewatching the tv miniseries, John Adams, which we own. It is so incredibly well-done . . . just fantastic!

She looked a bit pudgy to me. Not flattering at all. Maybe it looked better in person.

Just looked at the picture. That cut of dress is not made for her body. It was not flattering at all. I wouldn't have picked that color either.

I just caught it on the web.Why did she do this,is she going to be on DWTS? Not a very flattering dress at all, who ever picked it out was no friend of Rachels.

She is a little pudgy georgysmom! I thought the dress looked nice on her. Better than her tucked in shirt into too tight jeans look I see her in so often. The belt cuts her short frame off and she often looks chunky and uncomfortable! She has been putting on weight (haven't we all) as she ages. I just don't get the point of the dress? She isn't on the show from the article I read, she was just letting the costume designer play barbies with her. Maybe I skimmed too fast.

I agree the picture doesn't do her much good. The dress is not very attractive.

Yes, she is a bit pudgy, and I never understood why she always wears tight, stretchy tops that just hugs and accentuates all that 'pudge'. They certainly are not becoming on her.

I don't watch Rachel nor DWTS so I missed it. She is a sparkling personality tho, and I have made several of her recipes, quite a cook. I have to admit, I wondered the same thing about her choice of clothing when I have seen her on tv!

Supposedly she insulted the dress designer by saying she would NEVER wear those skimpy DWTS costumes. She then was told she had insulted him, so she apologized saying he designed well, she was just not suited to wearing small outfits. The dress designer said he would NOT accept her apology and wanted her to wear a dress he designed and have him on as a guest.

The whole thing could have been staged....????
