You have three individual windows instead of one large one. There is no place to put the shutters and no visual justification for them, e.g. they would look even more "fake" than they usually do. For shutters to contribute architecturally to a structure, each one on either side of a single window should be half the width of the window. There isn't room for shutters to be mounted on any of your windows.

That said, the house is really lovely as it is! Adding shutters would confuse it's style and detract from its curb appeal, IMO.

Thank you for your input. I do like the house as is, however, it just seemed a little plain compared to other homes on the street. My husband completely agrees with everyone's opinion, he does not like the idea of adding shutters. If we buy the house, we will leave it as it. Thanks again!

No shutters needed. If you aren't in a cold climate one thing that would add curb appeal would be to replace the asphalt driveway with pavers. It can also be done in a cold climate but they might heave up and snow removal is harder.

That is a very pretty house. I agree with everyone else about the shutters.
I thought I was the only person to call it "curb appeal" for a home I wanted to live in :).

For more color I'd look into a jazzy door color and maybe some bright container plants around the door for some focal interest and color.

While it wouldn't work on the larger banks of windows, I do think you could add shutters to the small uppers to warm things up. I think they would also work nicely in repeating the wood of the garage doors across the front of the house. Research the detailing for them.

The problem isn't a lack of shutters, it's that very prominent garage. I would find ways to minimize the appearance of the garage and maximize the front door/entry with paint, lighting, and landscaping.

You can do a search on the landscape design forum and you'll find lots of ideas about how to actually do all of that. My suggestion would be to paint the garage the color of the brick, and use a different, much stronger color for the rest of your trim. Pick a third color for your front door.

As long as we're bringing up the garage doors. If you buy, at some point you might want to look into replacing what's been put on the home. They do draw a lot of attention. I think more than necessary because they're not complementing the house. The detailing is too busy for that home and they're in the wrong style. The house already has enough going on with various material changes and other details. The doors look Craftsman style while the house has a French Provincial styling. They aren't mixing well. I would look for something understated and rich with a European influence like the house. I can picture a stained finish but that might not be practical. I might also stain the recess below the arches and above the doors using the door color so it blends into the doors and the arching stands out almost giving the look of arched doors. It's hard to see the front door but it appears too casual. Something classic, for a stately home. Bringing some curves into the landscaping would also soften the home's strong lines and warm or relax things more.
