It's chilly t0day and I made a p0t 0f chicken-wild rice s0up and have Ir0ndale c0rnbread ready in the frig t0 bake. What w0uld we eat if it wasn't f0r the KT? Jasdip p0sted the s0up recipe and Glenda the c0rnbread. Sure am getting hungry!!

Yummo Irondale Cafe Cornbread. I almost went there, but they don't serve chicken livers on Friday.

Miss Myra's BBQ for smoked chicken half which I covered with her awesome white bbq sauce and they gave me a sample of smoke sausage, cause I asked how it tasted :o)

I am making blackened shrimp fettuccine Alfredo in my aroma cooker serving with hot fresh garlic bread.

Patti, it's not really a wine tasting. We have a group of 7 couples that go out to dinner once a month. Each month a different couple hosts. They serve cocktails and appetizers and pick a restaurant for us to go to. Each couple gets separate checks so we're free to order as much or as little as we want because we pay our own way. We just call it Wine and Dine. Actually, we call our group Fun and Dine because there are many groups in our area and we've all been in groups that were more like Whine and Dine! This group got together about eleven years ago and we have a really nice time.

Here ya go teraserva. Black bean salsa chicken 4 skinless/boneless chicken breast halves 1 can black beans rinsed and drained 1 jar (about 2 cups) your favorite salsa 1 to 2 cups shredded mexican or cheddar cheese Spread beans in bottom of baking dish (an 8 inch square works well) Arrange chicken on top, then spread salsa evenly over it. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and spread cheese over it. Return to oven for about 5 minutes to melt. I add about 2 cups of mexicorn to the bean layer to make it a heartier meal for dh who is diabetic. Rice as Glenda said she served with it would be good, but rice sends hubby's blood sugar through the roof. We always enjoy a few of those baked 'Scoops' and a dollop of sour cream with it.

L00ks like it's a red meat night at the Table. We ended up having the left0ver curried chicken salad fr0m last night. Had a call fr0m a dear friend I hadn't talked with f0r a while. Had a t0n 0f catching up t0 d0. Jasdip and Rhiz0--th0se "0's" are driving me right up the wall! Marilyn, it must be y0ur lucky week! I l0ve redfish but with all the restricti0ns 0n size, etc., they're getting pretty rare in restaurants. Raven, d0 y0u have a sm0ker? I sure miss having 0ne. Harry used t0 make the best sm0ked p0rk--and turkey. Sure miss that! Tami, I haven't had Swiss steak in years! What cut beef d0 y0u use? I used a thick piece 0f t0p r0und but that's hard t0 find ar0und here. I l0ve the gravy best--and l0ts 0f it!!

Oh dear....not the ideal dinner for us! We had been invited to some close friends' home for dinner over a week ago. I asked if there was anything I could bring and she insisted that everything was covered.....she was making lasagna. She turned down my offer of a salad. I love lasagna, but I have a real problem with wheat pasta. When I make it, it's a veggie layered meal, with ricotta, Italian sausage, gooey and delicious but no wheat noodles. She had yummy appetizers, puff pastry treats mostly, which I adore but can't eat much of. Luckily, there was a veggie platter. Her lasagna smelled and tasted divine, but I knew if I ate more than a bite that I'd suffer all weekend. And NO salad! I guess I'm going to have to declare myself 'wheat free' to my friends. I've never been to a restaurant or dinner where there were zero options and this was a bit of a shock. We stopped at McDonald's on the way home so I could have their Southwestern salad with grilled chicken. Robert stuffed himself with lasagna, lol.

I found a Safeway store on my way home from work that has little tags they stick on the meat cooler, discounting things about 90% until they're gone! WOW!
I've got boneless, skinless chicken breasts/thighs($1.25lb)......maybe chicken cordon bleu? and a green salad.

Ge0rgysm0m, ahh, meatl0af sandwiches. The best part 0f making meatl0af. Just ab0ut the 0nly time I like mustard 0n a sandwich. Enj0y!

Nic0le, th0se tags always remind me 0f the little st0re in t0wn when we lived in the sticks. We had a neighb0r wh0 always called that marked d0wn meat "used meat". Always tickled me!

Every ones food sounds very good. I had a cubed steak w/gravy, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables.

We have big fluffy snowflakes coming down right now and will continue off/on all weekend I hear. Since there's to be very little accumulation, I'll say it does look pretty out.

It was finally raining here last night,so we went out for our Valentines Dinner tonight.We went to our favorite Chinese BUffet. We both ate too much but as always it was delicious.

I was out malling today and getting 'my hair did' as my DD#1 calls it;) SOOO that is my excuse for not cooking~~DH is getting me 2 Del Taco been and chesse burritos extra green sauce yummy;)

I had a grilled cheese sandwich, sliced cucumber and some of the potato salad I made 3 days ago, because I had two potatoes that needed to be used. Unbelievable how much potato salad two potatoes make! I made a dozen banana muffins today, so I also had one of those. Just to sample, of course.

I've been meaning to mention here about the bread I'm using now. The name is Healthy Life, and it is 100% Whole Wheat/Whole Grain. Made by the Lewis Bakeries, INC, Evansville, IN. It even comes in 1/2 loaves, as well as regular. I get it at Kroger and is the only kind of bread I buy now.
