Cirque du Soleil and FamilyTogetherness . . .

Last evening was a first for my family. Those of us who live in this area get together for most birthdays and holidays, depending on work schedules and other family obligations. That would be 10 of us, me, my DD, her DS and his fiancee, my DGD and her DH, plus 4 assorted DGGKs.

For this past Christmas, my DD included in her gift to each of us, tickets to Cirque du Soleil. I had seen the commercials many times and thought it would be great to see it, but had not mentioned it to anyone.

After working out everyone's schedules, drivers, and watching the weather forecasts, it all came together. Our first "night out" together. It was a bitter cold, windy night, but the possible snow didn't happen. Snow can be a real problem because we would be crossing the mountain to get to the Arena where the show was held.

When we got there we were told attendance for that evening was less than they expected, so our seats were "comped" up to the second best seating area. How nice was that? We had great seats.

It was fantastic!! If you have never seen one of their productions, try to do so. It is not just a "circus" like you saw when you were a child. We saw Saltimbanco. If and when any of the others come to our area, I hope to see them.

What a treat that we could all enjoy this together!!

Thanks to my wonderful DD.

(She is the one who got a bag of blocks for Christmas, if you remember.)
