Cookie8: I don't think this one would work the same way if you cook it on the grill, but hey -- you won't know unless you actually try it. I would use the marinade as a basting sauce. The only catch might be that the cranberries would get lost while turning the chicken. It will undoubtedly have a different taste too, so I do recommend cooking it by the recipe (stove-top) first, so you get that taste to compare. Do let us know how it turns out, ok? Two summers ago Lisa, a longtime friend got married. Nothing unusual about that. For the third time. Nothing terribly usual about that. To a guy 10 years her junior. Somewhat unusual, but no unheard of. At the beautiful, upscale Ritz-Carlton in Southern California overlooking the Pacific ocean on a picture perfect day. No shortage of beautiful days in So. Calif. but I'm sure the Ritz had never hosted a wedding as garish, gaudy and colorful as Lisa's. The colors were shocking pink and bright orange. The bride wore a white bustier with a 30ft train. A woman in the wedding party wearing a hot pink mini-dress walked Lisa's Chihuahua dressed in tulle down the aisle on a long pink feather boa. Martini glasses had feather boas around the stem. Cocktails had flashing ice cubes. Inside the reception room, feather boas hung from the chandeliers. Each table represented a festive country. We sat at the Paris table. There was a large band who started playing even before dinner began as did the dancing. When you were on the dance floor, gals walked around handing out feather boas, sunglasses and other assorted gifts to the dancers. A DJ followed the band later in the evening and two film crews recorded everything. The cake was incredible. It was made up of individual cakes wrapped in orange and pink chocolate and topped with shaved chocolate and chocolate covered coffee beans. Lisa is quite an interesting gal. She worked for me about 30 years ago. Very naive. No education other than high school. She has come a long way and is now quite wealthy. The wedding cost over $100,000 and she planned every last detail herself. It was beautiful, wonderfully fun, perfect day, perfect wedding. carla35, perhaps it's a regional thing. No question you know more about Catholic churches than do I so I can only speak from my experiences. My uncle's (Catholic) funeral served lunch after the funeral in the church. My cousin's (Catholic) wedding, (coincidently in the same church) had a lunch served in the church following the ceremony and this was hours before the reception. I've attended several (Catholic) funerals where they've served "lunch" after the event. Non-Catholic churches are also commonly serving lunch after a funeral. It's a common joke about Minnesotans feeding people after events like weddings and funerals, the Church basement lunches, "hotdishes", Jell-O molds and otherwise. Especially so the "country" churches often have what's called a Ladies' Auxiliary or Ladies' Aid who often handle the food prep, service and cleanup. My aunt's funeral had a caterer prepare and serve the food. My father's funeral was handled by the Ladies' A., as was my mother's years and yeas ago. Other aunts' uncles' and friends' funerals handled similarly. A point I was making is that I think one would be hard-pressed to walk in on a celebrity's wedding or funeral and say they can't keep one out. I really doubt that would work but then again I'm not Catholic so I can't say for sure.

cyn, thank you sincerely for your posts, as without them, I would not have known that others may have interpreted my post, as you did, and I need to correct that immediately! Firstly, thanks for informing us that the word 'racism' was actually coined in 1902, much earlier than I thought. Since many people obviously behaved in ways in the late 50's/early 60's that were definitely racist, I actually don't recall ever hearing the word 'racism' when I was little, so I guess I thought the words came into usage much later. But more importantly, roarah is precisely correct in understanding that I meant racism was APPARENTLY 'acceptable' meaning it was WRONGLY TOLERATED. Yikes, I hope everyone will now understand (with my apology to those who didn't) that I was not accurate and precise enough with my wording to make that perfectly clear! Also, I guess I need to clarify that I had never heard the 'N' word before, so I did not have a clue what it meant. It was NEVER said in my house by my parents, or said on our street (that's why I mentioned "I did not even know what the 'N' word was, nor did my friends, I'm sure.") I had never heard it until starting school, where it was used in "Eenie, meenie..." before a game was begun, to see who was the starter of the game or "It." So I was meaning that I regretted participating in the schoolyard chant with no knowledge of the word, having never heard it at home or among my little friends on our street.
