Tupperware Auction Party

Just got invited to a Tupperware Auction Party. Invite said you can earn "Auction bucks" by doing certain things; ie. rsvp 100pts, bring a friend 1000 pts etc etc.

Obviously I know they are selling tupperware, but anyone know what the auction part is? You use your aution points to bid on items at the party that you can keep? I googled, but I kept getting indivdual people's invitations.

I like the hostess and don't get to see her often so I'll go. I don't mind the "selling" parties, but usually don't buy much, although they had some cute things for the lunch box (and I have 2 school age kids).

I googled Tupperware Action parties and what I saw I personally did not care for. It seems to be a way to get people sign up to be dealers or buy lots of items. They talk auction dollars, not sure how it translates into real ones. They play games and you buy more. The more you buy the more auction dollars you get. Hope someone else here has addition information.

Reality soaps, hahaha! I've never watched any of the housewife shows, but have read discussions here, etc. and my exact thoughts were "sounds like a soap opera". "Yep, there's a reason I don't like or watch shows like these." Me too! "Reminds me of those fans back in the day who swore that the "wrestling" shows were real. Really???" I remember those comments. Actually, when my brother was younger, he was sooooo naive about wrestling. We used to make him so mad telling him how fake they were. LOL Not to say that anyone here doesn't realize the shows are scripted, but honestly, I bet there are people out there who don't think they are! "I couldn't watch the show because they were obnoxious, loud and somewhat trashy." Not my kind of viewing either. And I also wondered what real women in NJ think about the show. To be honest, I've never gotten into one single realty show. Natal will cringe when she learns I have not watched the first episode from those Lost dvds I bought. LOL tina

Retro Tupperware Party ideas?

I'm a little late but I'd like to add, tada, Crab Spread 8 oz. cream cheese 1 can crabmeat, drained and sorted bottle of chili sauce or seafood sauce, the red stuff, like Red Gold, Heinz, etc Mush the cream cheese and crabmeat together. Pack the mixture into a tupperware container, such as a bowl, or loaf shape. Or just shape it into a loafy mound. Dump the chili sauce and garnish with crackers. Laugh, but it's good. Oh yeah, you can add scallions, or other stuff to doctor it up. That strawberry salsa sounds like the beginning of something pretty good. Perhaps add some chopped onion, small touch of balsamic. Tupperware was out of my financial reality. I splurged on a couple of nice and well made things, but for the most part, it was too expensive for me. I loved my old orange juice container where I used to reconstitute frozen o.j., just add water, cover and shake. Used it every day as the only juice we drank was orange.

Gosh, I never even think about my tupperware, but I know I haven't bought any since I was newly married. So mine must be close to 25 years old. I also wonder if it's made as well nowadays. What a great product. When DD was a little 2 year old, she used to love to sit on the kitchen floor and pull all the tupperware out of the cabinet and sit on the floor surrounded by tupperware, playing with it!

Heat damage to Quartz counter - plastic Tupperware?
Q
Comments (21)
There are so many people out there who are in total denial as to how sensitive to heat, (33% plastic resin filled) quartz counters are. The OP is clearly indicating that her query about heated plastic containers, is what happened to her. So why belittle her question? @Jan Moyer, plastic food containers are manufactured to withstand the high heat of a microwave. Manmade counters, manufactured with plastic, are not. For anyone to state that it’s ”silly” to recommend the use of trivets for microwaved plastic containers, is demeaning, and irresponsible. So, it’s ”silly” to protect one’s expensive investment, just in case something negative should happen? How much of an inconvenience is it, to place a trivet on the counter? I mean, really. Ask @Gailan -, who replied above, if she’ll take that chance, if even two pieces of steamy bread left imprints on her quartz.

We give off auction bills throughout the party for different things. At the end we auction off small items. You don't have to buy anything to get the auction money.

If you can use some Tupperware, it will probably be fun. I still have some pieces that are over 50 years old, purchased at parties.

My daughter sells Tupperware and does "auction" parties all the time. they are really fun, gets people to interact and end up with some fun Tupperware gadgets and products. I had one and it was a blast!! I know Tupperware is expensive, but I totally think it is worth the money. I returned my Microwave containers that I had 20 years and they gave me new ones FREE. They have to be cracked, chipped or broken to get them replaced. No other product will match their warranty.

Have fun!
