How do I? ...Freeze -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freezing Summer Squash (Cocozelle, Crookneck, Pattypan, Straightneck, White Scallop, Zucchini) Preparation  Choose young squash with tender skin. Wash and cut in 1/2-inch slices. Water blanch 3 minutes. Cool promptly, drain and package, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Seal and freeze. Grated Zucchini (for Baking)  Choose young tender zucchini. Wash and grate. Steam blanch in small quantities 1 to 2 minutes until translucent. Pack in measured amounts into containers, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Cool by placing the containers in cold water. Seal and freeze. Start with cleaning the walls, windows and high shelves, moldings, etc. Use an extension pole with a damp mircrofibre if you're not into ladders. I found a large microfibre mop works great for dusting the walls. Don't forget the dust clings to wood moldings, windows, top of doors and their frames, light fixtures and the bulbs too!! Literally, you have to wipe down every surface, whether it be in front of you, above you, hiding from you or beneath you. LOL Vacum the floor really well after you're finished with all the other surfaces then mop with a mild solution of vinegar and water. Of course if you have carpets, just vacum really well. I just started cleaning our new new house and boy, it is not an easy taste. Well, it's easy in that the dust comes right up, but there is so much to clean!! Good luck.

I see this is an old post but new people may have these same questions and this past fall i did the same thing that g6342856 did. I had a weedy area about 4000 sq feet on side of house that had agressive weeds and only a few small patches of healthy grass .So i first mowed to lowest possible setting then round up for a month like morpheuspa said. Then water the dirt each week to see any areas you missed then repeat round up again. After a months time either level the area or rototill .If area is level just rough up the existing top soil and sow the seed. Before you do this incorporate some starter fertilizer into the soil that prevents weeds and does not interfere with new seedlings. Then your good. I recently filmed a two month renovation i did in August and i used titan rx turf type tall fescue with good results and im now weed free you can see video below. It took some hard work but well worth the wait

Not sure if you can get "rid of them forever guarantee". Perhaps they can be controlled quite a bit. Healthy plants can resist them more than stressed or sickly plants. Make sure your plants are as healthy as possible. Make sure they are not too stressed. If bringing in a new plant, thoroughly inspect it. Quaratine is recommended. Repotting it is often very good idea. They like warm and moist environment, so improve if necessary. Do not over fertilize your plants, mealies prefer new, juicy growth that may be excessive if too much fertilizer is used; and plants can be stressed by too much of it. Treatments needs to be repeated within 5-7 days to get rid of next generation. Larvae lives in soil, so treating soil could help to kill them. Using diatomaceous earth sprinkled around stems may help as it irritates them and kills them. If possible, keep plants outdoors during appropriate season. There are many beneficials outdoors that help - you could buy some (like lady bugs); but keeping them indoors could be difficult. Repotting, and using fresh potting mix helps - get rid of old one. Pots need to be cleaned and disinfected if reusing. Non-chemical treatments are usually sufficient. There are many chemicals available, but they shouldn't be used outdoors because they may kill beneficials and pollinators. Some/many could be also toxic to pets and ppl, so consider that before using... Mealies can develop resistance to most chemicals if those are used on regular basis. Inspect plants often to hopefully catch them before they spread too much. None of available insecticides will likely completely eliminate mealies. If you can't get them under control, destroying plants may be only option... I only see occasional mealy bugs on my plants, and use only rubbing alcohol to treat. Many recommend solution, but I use it full strength. Spray/dab directly on bugs. I make sure plant is not in strong sunlight while treated. This is all I can think of right now - and you probably tried most - hopefully others will chime in with more suggestions :)
