Slim pants for 5 year old grandson??

My older grandson at 5 years of age is tall and slender. We finally found a few pants for him last year that were marked "slim" and had an adjustable waist with elastic straps that you could tighten from the waistband.

I went looking for size 5 for him yesterday, and of course it is the end of the season. However, the only place I found slims was WalMart, and they had only one pair in tan, which is the color DD wants. When I visited my sister yesterday, we hit her WalMart, and found another pair there.

I went to Macy's, but they had none and what they did carry was wide and very expensive. I tried Target too, but they didn't carry slims.

This boy has my father's long legs and tiny buns.

You'd think you could buy boys slim pants at all the stores, but I have had no such luck. Even summer shorts need to be narrowly cut. I can usually find elastic waists at WalMart again, but the adjustable kind are rare anywhere. Even with elastic waistbands, I still have to tke them in.

Anyone know a good place to buy slim pants in California?

Try Old Navy. I buy the size slim jeans there for my 10 yo ds. They also have pants for younger boys.

I bought at Home Depot a green wire fence-like thing that is about 2.5-3 ft tall and sticks in the ground. It is wrapped around the outside of Annabelle. She still droops over somewhat, but not real low. I rather like the "fountain" shape that results. Kate

13 year old bedwetter

This is an old post, so I'm sure the OP's son, who would now be about 26, has resolved his bedwetting issue. My son was a bedwetter until about age 10. He just never woke up at night, he was such a deep sleeper. Once asleep, nothing could wake him up, he slept like a stone. Yet, he was cranky and tired during the day, even though he went to bed very early. The doctor found no medical reason for his bedwetting. But, eventually we discovered he had celiac disease. Once he got off the gluten, his sleep issues improved, he started waking up at night when he had to use the bathroom. Not only that, but he became much more pleasant and well rested. Little did we know, the celiac disease was the underlying cause. That was 20 yrs ago, when celiac was rarely thought of or diagnosed. I'm not saying this is the case for every case of bed wetting, but it was a factor for my son and I suspect for others too.

Robo, it sounds like you had fun! I missed this post so I'm glad you gave an update. Mayflowers, thank you so much for the colored salt jar idea. That can be one of the crafts I do with my grandsons next time we do a sleepover. My DGSs spent the night last night. I got out my markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, graphite pencils and an assortment of papers. While they were working on their drawings I was playing music. My oldest DGS asked if it was Beethoven. As soon as they were finished with their project they had out their iPads and were listening to Whip NaeNae. I videoed the oldest DGS doing the dance and we sent it and pictures of their artwork to Mom. Bedtime is still a problem with the boys, they are only fifteen months apart and they pick on each other unmercifully at bedtime. I'm going to order a cot bunk bed for them as the second queen size inflatable mattress bit the dust.

Sephia, one reason is because we know that the father will insist that we don't need to bring a gift. These are wonderful folks originally from another country than the US and, for some reason, he is greatly honored that we are coming despite barely knowing them. His other guests, mostly family, will be bringing gifts and we want to do so, as well. If we ask the father about what the boy might like, we won't get any answers other than "you don't need to bring a gift". We don't want to ask him, get that answer, then bring something, anyway; don't want to risk offending. As far as it being "more insight than a bunch of people on the internet", I've always found people here at the KT to be insightful, helpful, and knowledgeable. As in this case.

JC Penney used to be the only place I could by slims for my daughter. Don't know if they still sell them but you could google or call the store close to you.

Good luck! Those skinny little kids sure are hard to fit, aren't they?

Well, I have checked all the above suggestions ON LINE, and they don't carry slims. Maybe they do in the stores.
I wonder if it is a mark of the recession and they don't sell them these days.

When my grandson was that age and very slim....we found that the girls slims fit him and were more easily found. (No sparkles or anything back then...might be a problem today.)

I remember when my 31-year old DGS was that age...very long and slim like his dad. DD couldn't find any jeans to fit, but one day found a pair in the "free" box at a garage sale. And they were a perfect fit. Of course, when she tried to find them in a store, no such luck.

Did you try ordering them from Wal-Mart....I couldn't find some jeans I wanted so I got the upc out of the ones I had and looked them up on the website and ordered them ..Had them delivered to the store so no shipping fee......

Yes - Old Navy. I have a Grandson who wears extra slim and we get them at O.N.

Sears. That's where DD gets Damien's. Or Target. He's hard to fit, too. Size 8 slim, almost too short now, and still loose in the waist.
