Thank you so much for all your birthday greetings. I had a nice day even if I did have to work yesterday. Rather than cook we went out to The Masthead Restaurant in Cowichan Bay for dinner. Sorry no pictures. The restaurant is dark and I would have had to use a flash which I hate doing. Moe started with scallops with a risotto and I had Cowichan Bay Duck Confit with Potato Gnocchi. Main courses were Duck breast for Moe and I had Beef Tenderloin with a Bearnaise sauce. Both meats were cooked medium rare. I'd like to tell you that dinner was wonderful but it was mediocre at best. Nothing terrible wrong with it but nothing exciting either. And service was sadly lacking too. Although to be fair they were busy with a couple of large tables. Moe said he could have had much better at home, which I guess is why we hardly ever go out for dinner. I heard from Matt yesterday and he is hoping to come up this weekend. Haven't seen him for a few weeks so we are looking forward to that. Thanks again. Ann

Thanks... you all sure know how to make a gal feel young. My co-worker, Mary bought me a cake. I wasn't excpecting anything, so that was nice of her. She said it was her way for thanking me for the lemon bars, brownies, cheddar biscuits, and cookies... and for the carrot cake that I made for her birthday. It was very chocolate and very rich. Called the chocolate avalanche cake from Publix. Pics: I was going to try to get an open shot, but I RUINED it when I cut the silly thing. I ruin any cake I ever try to cut. And that silly plastic thing they give with the cake to slice serves more to smash and squash than slice and serve... but it was very good and moist no matter what it looked like! I also bought some Toblerone for myself after renewing the lease today... a friend gave me that for a birthday several years ago, so it's been a tradition ever since. Thanks again... I REALLY enjoy this forum and the people here. One of the hightlights of my day is to log in here and see what's going on with everyone!

Thanks everyone! I'm just getting in... We didn't do the massage thing or end up at a club.... we met friends at Chili's (because they have happy hour all day every day) and after 6 long island iced teas, I didn't feel like doing a whole lot except giggling and being silly! Our server looked just like Jessica from True Blood.... I mentioned this to her after about the 4th Long Island and she said she was told that all the time and that she loves the show and that she now recognizes that she does look like that character/actress after her customers pointed it out to her. When she found out it was my birthday, she told me that just had a birthday 2 days ago and she was even born the same year I was.... that was funny! As is common with many of the restaurants in Orlando, there was a "balloon lady", and while I wasn't looking, Larry asked her if she could make a vacuum cleaner out of a balloon. She said she'd never done it before, but she really did a good job.... Here's a picture of me with my "new vacuum".... excuse the goofy grin.... I was "very happy" there after all those drinks.... After we had drinks at Chili's, Larry was hungry so we went to a vegetarian restaurant and I got some fake beef and some fake shrimp wraps with peanut sauce.... very good! Larry got sushi and fake steak. Yes, Jasper knows that he is loved and in complete control... the arrogant little thing is demanding my attention right now. Pat, that would be great. I've met a few CF members before (Cathy, Shaun, a few others) and it was a total blast. Just let me know... if I don't see it on the forum, e-mail me privately when you think you might be coming up! Annie, a camouflage cake does sound pretty redneck.... but I don't know if either of us can truly claim the title until we've been commissioned to make a cake like this :o) I didn't make this, just found it online, but I have some family members that would love it! I guess I should try to chime in more often :o) Thanks again guys

The little old lady heard the door bell ring. She looked through the window and saw a nicely dressed young man standing on the doorstep.

She opened the door a little bit, and said; "Whatever you're selling I'm not interested."

The salesman took advantage of the small opening and stuck his foot inside. He said, "But I have the best vacuum cleaner in the world here. I'm sure you would like it."

The woman replied; "Whether I'd like it or not is not important. I have no money."

The salesman said, "Just let me demonstrate it, there is no obligation. I'm sure you will be impressed as it works both wet and dry."

The woman's response was, "Demonstrate if you want, but be sure not to leave any mess. And I'm still not buying."

The salesman came in saying; "If my vacuum won't clean this up, then I'll eat it." Then he dumped a bucket of fresh manure in the middle of the carpet.

And the little old lady said; "I hope you have a healthy appetite. The power was cut off for nonpayment this morning."

Why thank you everyone :o) For those of you who are trying to push me ahead in the line, I am 24 NOT 25! Don't rush me... I know I'm over the hill already :o) I almost wish I could just fast forward to 97 (minus all the health problems) because I act (and drive) like an old lady anyway. I feel a little behind being 24 and not having graduated college yet. I cononsole myself with the fact that some people don't even go to college and that age happens to everyone!

I am actually WORKING on my birthday (I usually do). After I get off tonight, my vegetarian boy toy is going to come up and spend the night with me. He wants to make me a cake and it had better not be out of TOFU. I'll scream!

My gal pal Sheila surprised me at work today and brought me a gift bag of trinkets, chocolates, cards from all four nieces. And some new flatware... I'd been complaining for months that my dishwasher is ruining the cheap flatware that was given to me when I first got my apartment. I was going to buy some, but I HATE shopping for anything that you can't eat or plug in and turn on! Sheila picked out a simple design that is perfect for me. What a nice surprise. Later in the week when we both have off, she wants to take me to Moon Fish to have dinner. Just have to set the date. What a special girl!

My ex got me a rear wheel bearing for my car (which he will also install). How romantic, any clue why we're exes??? :o)
