I have a Tassimo. This is my second....the first lasted a couple of years, this one is about 4 years old. I have a girlfriend that has had two stop working for her. Not sure how often she used it. I use mine for 4-5 cups a week....one cup a day for myself; on the weekend I use my auto drip for more than a cup a day. I have stayed with the Tassimo because of the milk discs for lattes and cappacinnos that I don't think Kuerig has. The Tassimo is not as popular and therefore the discs are not as highly available as the Kuerig; however, they can be found at Target, Walmart, and BB&B, and of course online. I don't think the machines are quite as expensive as the Keurig, but I could be wrong about that since I haven't bought one in a while. Overall, I do like the Tassimo. The only time it gives me an issue is if the bar code can't be read well, but I can usually remedy that with a quick swipe across the reader. Not really sure why that happens. It's not dirty, just sensitive it seems. I have had to 'reset' it with the power switch before too. It is convenient for a quick cup of coffee....the kids like their hot chocolate and other flavors as well, when you're sick and need hot tea as quickly as possible, it's great too....but like I said, it's only for a one-cupper around here, otherwise, we make a bigger pot.

Hi Everyone...I ususally just 'take in' and enjoy all the wonderful advice you all give here. I just have to add my 2 cents along with a question to you. I also have a Hamilton Beach Crock Pot (6 qt). I bought it at Walmart and paid about $39, for it. It's wonderful and I use it almost every other week. There is just my husband and I now at home, but I usually make enough of whatever for a couple of meals >> Pot Roast/Pork Roast, etc. I love the fact, that when I set it up, and go about my day, when I come home, it's like 'Someone' Cooked Dinner. So for that part, I love it. NOW, my question. I just purchased a 20 qt Cooks Essential Electric Roaster with timer, from QVC. I haven't used it yet...I'm a little nervous. I'm thinking of using it as an extra oven for the Holidays. Not to do my Turkey in..but for other dishes. Can anyone give me some tips or advice, as to you using it this way? Will I be able to use my own casserole dishes to put in there (on the rack) and do I need to add water? Haven't a clue..the receipe book does not give enough details on this. Curious not one negative review. There was an article recently on the amount of waste these machines have produced. So much the inventor sold the patten in embarrassment. I think I would have continued to resist had I read that article a year ago. I was the last of my siblings to give it a go. I did not want the cup storage to take up space on my limited cupboards so I opted for a drawer to set my Kureg on. BIG MISTAKE. It never occurred to me I would be lucky to fit JUST the machine under the uppers!! Mine slides forward w/o a plant mover. I just give'er a tug. Anyone know how long they last? I can't say mine fulfilled all my coffee dreams so will not replace it once it breaks. The cost per cup is very prohibitive and I am not finding the quality of the coffee "worth" it for me. I drink 1-3 cups each morning. I could dump a lot of coffee and come out ahead I have decided. I tried all the fill them yourself cups,etc. and found the coffee very lacking. Why did the coffee from my sister's Kureg taste sooooooo good but mine is so so?

My DH buys different types every few days because he's always on the quest for the perfect coffee. He hates to grind too, so he just buys the 12 oz bags from supermarkets. The other day he found a brand at a local close-out store-it was around $4/12oz-he bought it for the kid who works for him, and I tried it-it was quite good. But given the source, I know we'd never find it again. I've found that McDonalds coffee brand is actually pretty good for a grocery store coffee. I do not like Dunkin Donuts or Gevalia. A regional brand, Seattles Best is pretty good, and I like Starbucks Blonde blends. I agree, the Tanzania Peaberry is a good coffee, but DH doesn't like it. My favorite is also from a local roaster, but I have to buy it in 5lb bags of whole beans.
