Comments (11)Yellow can be so pretty and it can be ugly. Its really hard to get the right shade. My previous kitchen had yellow that I loved loved loved WHERE THE SUN WOULD SHINE. In the part of the kitchen with no direct light - it looked GOLD :( I don't know the color you're considering, but I would just make sure its just a hint of yellow, not too much. Yellow and pink are 2 colors that (to me anyway) seem like the walls are reflecting or bouncing off each other. A little goes a long way. Especially with artificial lighting....See Moresage green paint with oak cabinets
Comments (16)Update: Okay, I did a test run of the SW clary sage on my walls, just one coat and it is almost dry. I don't think I like it at all. It has quite a gray/blue undertone. DH says, "It's fine". I think he is just tired of the whole process of me choosing a color. Anyway, he also said it will look different put on with a roller and two coats, I used a brush and only one coat. I know this is true, but...do I want to risk hoping I will like the color better then or start again w/ a new color? Will HD (had paint mised in Behr)return custom-mixed paint? Can says non-returnable but I recall someone posting on this forum they will return it if you don't use more than a quarter of the paint in the can. Maybe I could try selling it on CL.I am about to scrap the entire green family and go with a neutral, but my entire downstairs is Dapper Tan now except the half bath. At this point, a cream color looks pretty inviting. Any advice or thoughts? Thanks!!...See MoreRecommend a sage green
Comments (33)We used BM Georgian Green taken down a notch using their pastel base. But I've also see BM Flowering Herbs and that is also very pretty. BM Flowering Herbs ended up looking too brown with the lighting in my kitchen. So it's really important to get samples and paint them onto your wall and look at them with day and night lighting....See MoreWood or painted white cabs in this space? pic attached
Comments (17)I think your cabinets want to be painted green, something like the gray-green on your walls. Failing that ('cause not everyone wants green cabinets), maybe something in a warm medium-toned wood to coordinate with your woodwork, which is beautiful. Heart pine springs to mind (or knotty if you can find some without quite so many knots), but I don't know what woods are local or easily available where you are... maybe fir? This room might also be a good candidate for wood lowers (continuing the color of the wainscoting on the lower half of the room) and painted uppers, as others have said....See MoreRelated Professionals
