wow! what a deal!

I have been wanting a nice WARM red wool coat for several years, but never managed to find one that I was willing to pay a fortune for.

Yesterday, we were out to the Mall in the morning for a walk. I decided to "walk thru" the coat dept at Sears. All the winter coats were on clearance sale, so I picked one out and tried it on. Perfect fit! So I looked at the tag....... It was originally marked/tagged $160.00. The last reduced tag was down to $39.00, so I decided it was finally time to get my coat.

IT RANG UP AT $27.00! That coat only cost me $27 dollars!

That sure made my day....the whole week for that matter!

I just had to share, and I don't know how long the sale runs.

That's great,we all love a bargain don't we??

I remember when my dd was a little girl and we were shopping at the mall one year.She was probably 10 or so.She saw this red coat that looked like red patent leather,and she wanted that coat sooo bad.But we were a young military family and dh was in viet nam at the time.The coat was 68.00,way out of my reach.Then after xmas that year we were back in that same store and the coat was marked down to 8.00,so i snatched it up.DD loved that coat and if i had let her, she would have slept in it.

I hope you get a lot of good wear from that coat.Congratulations.

I love a good bargain, Judy. Congratulations. My red wool coat is about ten years old and I still love wearing it.

That was an amazing find. The dresser is very much like mine, but fancier - mine doesn't have the rope edging. Brought mine in 1986 and it was pricey then. Would have the bed frame too, but we don't have enough room. This is really gorgeous. You got a great deal. I usually use CL to give away stuff that I've replaced, but you've got me wondering how much I'm missing, LOL. Your paint job and new spread really add the right finishing touch. Congrats!

I love a good revived thread. :-) My good deals are all from eBay this time. My desktop computer is not quite four years old, but since it gets a lot of use and we believe in "lifecycling" electronics I've been casually looking for a good deal on a somewhat high-end refurbished PC to replace it. Before I found anything, my computer quit. Just refused to turn on. I researched possible causes, and called in my expert: my son. The power supply was a common source of the problem, so I bought one on eBay for $20. Nope, that didn't do it, but we kept the replacement in the computer and held onto the old one as a spare. Next we replaced the motherboard ($70 on eBay). Yes! The computer works fine at this point, but we figured since the hard drive has been spinning all these years, why not replace it--or add another, which is what we did--rather than wait for it to fail? So I bought a 1TB SSD drive on Amazon ($100), and now have a "new computer" for under $200. Also, I've been wanting an L.L. Bean tan canvas "barn jacket" for a long time but was unwilling to pay over $100 for it. Even eBay prices on them aren't usually tempting, but this time I found one for under $20 including shipping. I love it! It really is "like new," and I look forward to wearing it when spring starts to make an appearance. All I need now are olive green "wellies" for our muddy season.

I got a reversible wool and cloth coat at KMart a few years ago. I wasn't really shopping for myself, I took MIL out for a treat. Saw the coat, she loved it too, but it was too small for her. Heh,Heh, I'm short and thin. it fit me and was only $10. I still have it.

Wow, that is a better deal than the one I got years ago at Chadwick's for $75! Mine is a full length wool coat in red too.

My recent best deal was Liz Claiborne jeans for $10!

I don't even remember how old my Red Wool Coat is. My Mom bought it for me years ago for my Birthday. It had a little moth whole in it last year and I repaired it. I have had it in the donation bag a bunch of times, but end up rescuing it before it went out the door.

I love red wool Jackets and Coats.

and dd2 just bought the baby one for $10 at childerns world(?)for next year...

we bought one for dh at walmart...some great values...

That's why it's good to go shopping with nothing in particular in mind. You can sometimes pick up real bargains, even if you don't need the item at that time.

Hummmmmm

It's just a coat, and it looks better on the hanger (so thin and cute) then it does on my bod!

It does have a small round collar (I wish it was bigger) and I'm not sure what kind of scarf to use with it.

Got two pair of water proof boots at Kohls for $22.00 TOTAL! One is men's hiking boots (an extra pair of socks and they will fit me great!). the other is a pair of Totes zipper boots. Had a pair already but wanted another pair for next year. I was sooo excited!!!!

I have been looking for a red winter dress coat too! We were in Monroe WI a few weekends ago at the Swiss Colony outlets and I got a red wool one with a black color for $25. I was thrilled!

Oh wow, that would make my day, too. Almost a steal for something you've been wanting. Really happy you got a great deal, but wondering from your last post if you're a little disappointed. Sure hope not.

Gosh, red wool coats must be a wardrobe staple or something, so many of you have or had one. Congrats, Judy, you really lucked out! Turn that collar up and slap on a warm, fuzzy scarf, it's going to look and feel great!

I have a wonderful black wool stadium coat that is the most flattering thing I own. Too bad it attracts every little hair and fiber to it, I spend hours trying to get it hairless with the sticky roller since we have 7 pets.

My best coat bargain was the Ebay brown leather/shearling jacket I got for $11. It's asymetrical and looks really cute on. And it's a top name from New York, to boot! What a steal!
