Anyone know anything about these chairs?

Well I'm just showing one, but I have ten of them. They are from the mid century, but were recovered in the eighties. There's no label of any sort and I don't know if there ever was one. I have someone that's interested in buying them, but I have no clue what to ask for them. I was hoping some of you ladies and gents here that know more about MCM furniture than I do could help me. They were used in a conference room in a law office so I'm sure they're good quality just have no clue about anything else.

I believe it's a Mid century modern danish chair but don't know the name of the original designer. I'll do some research but I'm sure someone will stop by with more information.
I definitely love the proportions and those sexy legs!!

I've ordered from them and the quality ranged from average to below average. They are cheap and do offer a 1-year replacement guarantee if you mail back your dead plants. However, they don't let you choose rootstocks and they don't have nearly the variety of other choices (local nurseries don't offer these advantages, either). Fruit trees are too much work to go cheap on. If you want to maximize price to quality, spend a few bucks more and buy from Burnt Ridge Nursery (west coast). Spend a couple bucks more beyond that and you get a ton of choices (both varieties and rootstocks) from another very reputable nursery, Adams County (east coast). There are also other good choices out there (search the fruit and orchard forum).

The elaborate pressed wood back is usually 1880s-1910 or so. Instead of carving, they used large hydraulic presses to imprint the design. Value? It depends on where you are, because it depends on local demand for them.

I found a dining set by Tradewins that is constructed with 100% solid American Black Cherry wood and has dovetail construction on drawers on the buffet. It's priced for an 8 pcs set at $3100. (table w/ 2 leafs; 2 arm & 4 side chairs, buffet) I've searched the Internet and found alot of on-line stores that sell this brand as well as some actual/physical furniture stores. I also found a furniture store an hour from me that has it too, and also has a floor sample of the one I like. I'll be driving up there on Saturday to check it out THOROUGHLY. Has anyone had any experience with this manufacturer and their cherry collection? Thanks.

They don't look quite sculptural enough to be Finn Juhl imo, FJ usually had a draped or curved arm.

I think they are an American vernacular MCM birch chair in the style of someone like Heywood Wakefield, but I don't know that H-W ever did a brushed steel or chrome capped leg.

Maybe Greta Grossman or early Milo Baughman for Glenn of California?

Thank you so much htnspz and palimpsest. I really appreciate it. I'll be keeping a watch on this. I tried to find them by doing tons of image searches with all sorts of wording, but could find nothing quite like them. I told the guy that wants them I'd find out more about them before giving him a price, but like I said above I have no idea what that should be. I had originally thought I'd slipcover them for the Ladies Parlor but I made enough money in November and December to just buy four new slipper chairs which is what I originally wanted anyway. Not as MCM looking as I hoped, but I'm happy.

My first thought was something in the style of Russel Wright/Conant Ball furniture. Good luck with your search.

Thanks Lori. I was thinking I posted them at Passions, but maybe not. I'll have to get newer pix because I've gotten a new ceiling fixture now too.

Thank you BlueMomm28. I'll have to look into that. I've yet to find a picture of them online using the other suggestions above though Finn Juhl had curved backs the arms and seats were not the same as mine.

ummm---if she doesn't want all ten....I might be interested. (Depending on where you are and what it would take for me to get up there or have them shipped....and their dimensions.)

Why doesn't anyone in MY neck of the woods ever have this stuff? I mean--a bunch of it got MADE in NC for crying out loud...

@mjsee: me, too! Everything's in CA or NY! I guess we're not in the MCM design capital of the US!
