Yes, I'm very, very remiss. Arlene sent me a gift a couple of weeks ago and I haven't posted until now. First we had discussed her sending me these to use as gifts for the forum get together in Kalamazoo, but I didn't know how many were really coming until it was too late to get them. I didn't want to post a picture, in case it became forum gifts!

And then, well, I have no excuse at all. I'm sorry, Arlene.

Yeah, it's a "book bone". Isn't it nifty? Both ends are weighted and they hold a cookbook open for you, it works like a charm and is perfect for people like Arlene and me, who have tiny little kitchens with no counterspace and no room for a cookbook holder!

I've used it several times and keep it right in front of my silverware drawer, it takes no room at all hardly. Well, actually, I've kept it in the basket with my napkins on the end of the counter where it's handy for the past couple of weeks, it's not even made it into the drawer.

So, thank you, Arlene, you are a sweetheart! I'm glad you escaped Irene relatively unscathed too. And yes, I have your DH's maple syrup still unmailed. Sigh. Somehow stepmom is keeping me hopping every spare minute.
