My inclination would be to paint the walls bright white and let the rest of the accents be the color players. White is the backdrop I've often seen, or been drawn to, when I look up bohemian pictures. I'd also put a really large area rug in the room that only left a few inches of bare floor around the perimeter of the room. This way, no matter which way the room is arranged, the rug is always the right size. If your daughter is anything like I was, the room will be rearranged many times during her teen years! : ) You could still layer her little rug over the large rug for her reading nook. The bead board appears top be oak. Oak is relatively easy to stain as it takes the stain evenly,needing no pre-stain sealer. One of the functions of stain is to not only impart color initially, but to keep it from turning darker with age. If it has been in place for several months, it has probably already reach its dark point. You could stabilize it and lighten it somewhat by giving it a white "pickling stain". the white pigment gets stuck in the grain and any indentations. Hopefully you have some scraps to practice on before commiting to the whole room. If putting a clear varnish over the paneling, the water based urethane varnishes will dry clear and remain so. Oil based varnishes initially are slightly amber and get more so with age. WB urethanes are also much less odor and VOC's , important when working in inhabited spaces. Both spray well, if you have access to conventional air spray equipment. At least two coats would be advised for uniformity of sheen. I would finish and protect the stained paneling before doing the other paint work. If you should accidentally get paint on the bare wood grain, it will be very difficult to get rid of the blotch, which would show through the stain.

I agree with Glo. I’d do inside mount roller shades. They’re cute, easy to use, allow your pretty window trim to show, and can be budget friendly. If you google ‘diy roller shades’ ... ‘diy roller shades girls room’ ... ‘no sew roller shades’, etc, lots of tutorials come up. They’d be great because you could pick the exact fabric/covering you want. since she's under 2, I don't think you have to worry about a desk yet. I'd have fun and redo the walls and bring in accessories. Doing the wall by her bed, and/or the opposing wall would be nice. here are some ideas: paint the walls a soft blush/mauve (or whatever color you like), get some flower decals, shelving, little chairs board and batten? some peel and stick wallpaper? a cute swinging chair? some fairy lights? I think this one is pretty. one wall w/the paper, and the other walls coordinating color. bring in some fun play objects like the tent w/the furry rug, little lights, stuffed animals. for that bare wall, I think you could set up a doll house, or toy kitchen, tea set, whatever she likes. maybe a reading area? display the books.
