Hey there, stumbled on this today and had to share. At the Norfolk Botanical Garden here in VA, a pair of bald eagles has three eggs. There is a web cam on them (well, on Mama right now.. )so you can watch what's going on. I am bookmarking it so that I can check on them when the babies hatch. It's not that exciting now, but given how high they nest I think its neat regardless.

The NBG site said they expect the first eaglet to hatch in min March and that they usually incubate about 37 days.

Yep, we're watching!! After last year's disappointment, we are ready for some eaglets!

I was there when they had babies before. The mother was feeding it seagulls that hang around the water there. Their nest was full of white feathers.

The reception to the park has a monitor with the webcam showing the nest but I never saw it online. They have a trolley that stops by the tree but you have to look very carefully to see the birds.

This is really a cool cam. As of earlier today one of the cameras were down (they usually have 2 going at once). I was able to watch dad swoop in and bring a big fish to mama and baby eagle a couple of days ago. Mom seems to be doing a great job of feeding baby. Hi Sue, Here we go again...the Eagles are BACK! I enjoyed them so much last year. I think the web cam they use is the most reliable of those I have seen. I'm happy to know that they have their first egg in the nest. The excitment is building! sooey

Alisande, that must be a popular link. It said the server was busy when I tried it. I'll try again in awhile. That was a nice story, BLF. Happy2b, what a treat to see the birds so close. We have a nesting pair up very near where I board my horse. Driving up there a few months ago, there was some road kill on the side of the road. An eagle had landed right near it and was approaching it as I went by. I was so excited to see him!! They are majestic and starting to make a comeback here in Ohio.

I haven't been in years. I hear it is really amazing now. It's a lot warmer to watch eagles from inside too. :)

Neat.

I saw 5 bald eagles out my own window yesterday. They are really starting to repopulate in this area.

I see them often feeding on carrion - usually a deer carcass.
